Uzbekistan’s Mr. Sherzod Tashmatov was appointed as AIBA EC Member

Mr. Sherzod Tashmatov was appointed as new member of the AIBA Executive Committee in the meeting which is holding in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Mr. Tashmatov is the key person of the Uzbekistan Boxing Federation and also in the Asian continent who deserved well his new position in the International Boxing Association.
He is the Vice-President of the Uzbekistan Boxing Federation and followed the ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships in Bangkok, the last edition of the AIBA World Boxing Championships in Doha and also the AIBA Asian & Oceanian Olympic Qualification Event in Qian’an, China from the venues and arranged successful and delightful negotiations with the management of AIBA and ASBC.
Uzbekistan has got an excellent background in our sport with more than 20,000 boxers in the country and their involvement to the World Series of Boxing was a great success in the Season VI. Uzbekistan hosted APB, WSB and AOB events in the recent one year and returned to the world’s boxing life as one of the leader of the globe. Uzbekistan Boxing Federation with the support of Mr. Tashmatov is planning to bid for the 2019 AIBA World Boxing Championships.
Uzbekistan secured eleven quota places for the boxing tournament of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games in qualification process while their WSB squad advanced to the semi-finals of the Play-off as newcomer in the league. The country has got great expectations in the upcoming Rio 2016 Olympic Games where one of their boxers could be crowned after their six medals in the Doha 2015 AIBA World Boxing Championships.
