Mr. Serik Konakbayev visited the Training Camp in Almaty which is part of the ASBC Development Program

The international training camp in Almaty was organised by the Asian Boxing Confederation which is part of their newly launched Development Program. ASBC President and AIBA Vice-President Mr. Serik Konakbayev invited specialists to lead the trainings to Almaty where the main objectives are improving technical and tactical skills and obtaining real results in those boxing countries of Asia where there was stagnation but there is a desire to develop.
Our continent’s countries have been preparing hard to the Asian Games and other important competitions therefore ASBC is hosting an international training camp as the first step of the preparation to that multisport event. Next to the Kazakh teams, developing Sri Lanka and Kyrgyzstan are also taking part in the training and sparring camp in Almaty. Ukraine’s top coach Vladimir Vinnikov is leading the sessions who was a trainer their former AIBA World Champion Taras Shelestyuk. The common training and sparring camp started on February 16 and will be holding until March 3 in Almaty.
Asian Boxing Confederation launched its “Great things have small beginnings” campaign in 2017 to support the Asian affiliated National Federations with new equipments which is their start for a new era and further developments. Following the ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships, the ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships, ASBC and Wesing grant programs are continued in the ASBC Asian Confederation Women’s Boxing Championships.
Altogether fourteen countries received new equipments from the Asian Boxing Confederation’s and Wesing’s common project in 2017 therefore ASBC decided to realize the next step to organize international training camps. The Indonesian capital Jakarta will be the host of the upcoming Asian Games which will be taking place from August 18 until September 2 later this year.
