Mr. Serik Konakbayev and the whole ASBC management wishes Happy Birthday to Russia’s boxing icon Mr. Boris Lagutin

The President of the Asian Boxing Confederation and Vice-President of the International Boxing Association (AIBA) Mr. Serik Konakbayev, furthermore the whole ASBC management wishes Happy Birthday to Russia’s two-time Olympic Champion boxing icon Mr. Boris Lagutin who is celebrating his 80th birthday today. Mr. Lagutin is Honored Master of Sports and received the highest Russian awards and medals in the recent decades.
Mr. Boris Lagutin was born in the city of Moscow on June 24 in 1938 and became one of the biggest boxing stars of the whole world. Mr. Lagutin won 241 contests out of his total 252 during his whole career between 1952 and 1968. Following his bronze medal at the Rome 1960 Olympic Games he won the gold medals in Tokyo in 1964 and defended his throne four years later in Mexico City. Besides to his Olympic titles he is two-time European Champion winning the gold medals in 1961 and repeating it in 1963.
