Mr. Serik Konakbayev and the whole ASBC management send their sincere condolences to Mr. Denis Ten’s family

The President of the Asian Boxing Confederation and Vice-President of the International Boxing Association (AIBA) Mr. Serik Konakbayev, furthermore the whole ASBC management is sending their sincere condolences to the Kazakhstan’s Olympic Games bronze medallist figure skater Denis Ten who was murdered yesterday.
Mr. Denis Ten was born in the city of Almaty on June 19 in 1993 and began skating at the age of 5 in Kazakhstan. He won the Asian Winter Games in 2011 which was his first career highlight at the age of 18. Following taking silver medal in the 2013 Figure Skating World Championships he achieved bronze in the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games. Denis Ten was also bronze medallist in the 2015 Figure Skating World Championships and bagged gold medal in the 2017 Winter Universiade in his hometown in Almaty.
Mr. Denis Ten suffered serious blood loss when he was stabbed in the thigh by two men who were attempting to steal his car mirrors. “Denis Ten of Kazakhstan was a great athlete and a great ambassador of his sport. He was a warm personality and a charming man, such a tragedy to lose him at such a young age,” stated IOC President Mr. Thomas Bach of Germany after the tragedy.
