Mr. Kraitach Kaewkate – “We show our Thai hospitality and the ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships is running smoothly”

Mr. Kraitach Kaewkate is the engine in Thailand Boxing Association who worked hard to the success of the ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships. He and his team’s professional attitude is the key of the high level of organization therefore we asked him in the venue about his opinions in several topics.
Mr. Kraitach Kaewkate passed his ITO exam at the AIBA World Boxing Academy in Almaty one and half year ago. He worked as an ITO in the Ho Chi Minh City 2017 ASBC Asian Confederation Women’s Boxing Championships as Equipment Manager and his passionate commitment to our sport delivers success for the whole continent.
“This ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships is an excellent opportunity for us to show Thailand’s potential in the boxing world and our hospitality to all Asian countries. We had only small problems before the start of the ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships which is normal but everything went according our plans.
We received support from the Thai Sports Authority for this ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships but we covered the financial background of the event mainly from our annual budget. Thailand Boxing Association has got 15 sponsors which companies are supporting us every year not only because of this ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships.
We are trying to combine our hospitality with our organizational skills in this wonderful ASBC event. I am sure none of the teams can worry about the transportation which is the key point of our smooth organization.
The selection process of our teams to the ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships was based on two steps. The Thai Youth National Championships was held in February where 140 men and 50 women boxers competed for the medals. The second selection process was within the national team in the sparrings in the recent weeks. We would be satisfied with one quota place for the Youth Olympic Games and we hope we can make it in Bangkok.
We did not get the best venue for this event because our women volleyball team booked it four years ago but the Huamark Indoor Stadium is also a good hall to arrange this ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships. Hopefully we can host the next big international event in our National Stadium soon.
We will be hosting the Thailand International Open Tournament this June but the 2020 Asian Olympic Qualification Event is in our focus as next which we are planning to host in Bangkok. Hopefully we can host an AIBA event also in the future,”
said Thailand’s boxing official Mr. Kraitach Kaewkate between the two sessions of the semi-finals.
