Mr. Kraitach Kaewkate is the engine in Thailand Boxing Association who passed his ITO exam at the AIBA World Boxing Academy in Almaty one year ago. He received the right at the very first time to work as an ITO in the ASBC Asian Confederation Women’s Boxing Championships as Equipment Manager and we asked him about the competition, his work and Thailand’s future events.
“The ASBC Asian Confederation Women’s Boxing Championships is a successful event for me and I am feeling myself wonderful in this great continental competition. I passed my exams successfully one year ago and I am really happy to be here as official at the very first time, this competition is a debut for me as ITO.
I am responsible for the equipments as manager of this part of the competition and I am following the AIBA Technical Rules. I was a bit nervous in the first competition day of the ASBC Asian Confederation Women’s Boxing Championships but after that I was focusing only to my job.
Thailand achieved one medal in the ASBC Asian Confederation Women’s Boxing Championships but we expected more before the start of the competition. We are focusing to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and we know we still need time to develop our team to the same level as we have been used to be.
We are planning to invite some top countries from the various continents as Cuba, Russia, Japan and India to arrange dual match series in March. We are planning to host this new international competition in Saraburi where our new boxing academy was built.
We will be hosting the ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships in April and we are expecting record number of 250 women and men boxers. It will be a really interesting ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships as the event is a qualification competition for the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games and also for the AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships.
Our prestigious King’s Cup will be an open competition for all countries in the end of June 2018 which will be a preparation for us to the Asian Games. We are also thinking to host a big event in Thailand in 2019,”
said Thailand’s ITO Mr. Kraitach Kaewkate in the venue.
