Mr. Abdybakyt Khalmurzaev – My Kyrgyz team claimed two medals here in Bangkok

The President of the Boxing Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Abdybakyt Khalmurzaev watched the semi-finals and the finals in the venue of the ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships in Bangkok. Mr. Khalmurzaev visited the ASBC Head Office and negotiated with ASBC President Mr. Anas Alotaiba in the beginning of the year.
The former national team member boxer and the President of the Boxing Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Abdybakyt Khalmurzaev shared us his thoughts about the event and some important information about their boxing life and future plans.
“The venue of the ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships is a fantastic arena and the Thai organizers worked strongly for all teams.
My team proved good performance at the Gee Bee Tournament in Finland last month which was our last preparation event before the start in Bangkok. Unfortunately our No.1 Azat Usenaliev lost in the quarter-finals in Bangkok in a tight bout but I know his time will be coming back in 2020.
We achieved two medals in the ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships in Bangkok. Mirlan Turkbay Uulu (49kg) and our Olympian boxer Erkin Adylbek Uulu (81kg) both earned bronze medals.
I was a boxer in the ‘80s, claimed two titles in the Soviet Union Junior National Championships in 1984 and in 1985 and I know what our boxers need to get more medals in the future.
We developed the level of the Kyrgyz referees in the recent years and now we have four top R&Js. Zhamila Borkoeva worked here in the ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships in Bangkok. We have three more good international referees as Mukash Yrsaliev, Abdimalik Aytiyev and Nazira Rakhatova.
Our main international event the Duisenkul Shopokov Memorial Tournament was stronger than ever this year in Bishkek. The host country of the ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships Thailand competed with more than 20 boxers in Bishkek.
I am from the ancient city of Osh where the Arziyev Brothers International Tournament is running now with the participation of strong future hopes. We will have still Murataliev Memorial, Tournament, Kenzhebek Akelbayev Prizes Tournament and Issyk-Kul Games this year in Kyrgyzstan. Our main competition will be the AIBA World Boxing Championships on September,” said Mr. Abdybakyt Khalmurzaev during his stay in the ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships.
