Mongolia’s multiple Asian Champion Erdenebat Tsendbaatar will return in Dubai

Mongolia will be competing with six top boxers at the upcoming IBA Men’s Elite World Boxing Championships which will be held at the Dubai Tennis Stadium on December 2-13 where the multiple Asian Champion Erdenebat Tsendbaatar will make a comeback.

Mongolia’s coaches Mr. Khainar Khaisanai and Mr. Syerik Khajat selected finally six boxers out of their eight possible participants and led the training sessions in Ulaanbaatar.

The teams can arrive to Dubai on November 30, the first competition day is December 3 while the finals are schedule to be held on December 13.

The total prize money of the IBA Men’s Elite World Boxing Championships will be 8.32 million US dollars and the best 104 boxers can earn these amounts in Dubai.

Gankhuyag Gan-Erdene is member of the national team since 2013 and he claimed medals in the Asian Games, Asian Boxing Championships and other top events. The 32-year-old veteran is still hungry for the further successes and he is ready to do big things in Dubai.

Enkh-Amar Kharkhuu was Asian Champion in 2021 and he has more than 12 years of international experience among the elite boxers. The 33-year-old boxer decided to continue his career and he is one of the medal favourites at the men’s featherweight (57kg) in Dubai.

Erdenebat Tsendbaatar is one of the best Mongolian boxers of the recent 15 years who earned gold medals in the 2019 and 2021 editions of the Asian Boxing Championships and at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta. He turned to professional in the recent years but he will be making a big comeback in Dubai from next week.

Another experienced Mongolian boxer, Davaadalai Altangerel moved up to the light welterweight (63.5kg) who competed already at the 2013 edition of the Asian Boxing Championships in Amman.

Jandos Askhar has Kazakh roots in Mongolia and he competed for the country in the 2019 Asian Youth Boxing Championships which took place in Ulaanbaatar. The 23-year-old welterweight (67kg) boxer progressed well enough in the recent six years to make surprises in the United Arab Emirates.

Beknur Khali competed for Mongolia in the recent Asian Games in Hangzhou and other events, and he is the country’s best super heavyweight (+92kg) boxers of the last decade.
