Lu Bin and Dong Tingjiang awarded as Best APB Boxer and Best APB Coach of the Year
The 2015 AIBA Award Ceremony was held in the day of the finals in the Doha 2015 AIBA World Boxing Championships in Qatar where among the winners there is a Chinese boxer and his coach from the Asian continent.
The Best APB Boxer trophy went to China’s former AIBA Youth World Champion Lu Bin who won the first title match of the Light Flyweight class (49 kg) still in January when he defeated his teammate in the key bout which was guaranteed for him a place in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. The 21-year-old Chinese boxer trained hard to defend his throne against Kazakhstan’s AIBA World Champion Birzhan Zhakipov in the APB Championships Title Match. The young Chinese hope found the best fighting distance against the taller opponent in their top bout last month and defended his APB title which was enough to win the Best APB Boxer Trophy.
Asia’s second big achievement was acquired by China’s 3-star AIBA Coach Dong Tingjiang who became the Best APB Coach of Year in 2015. He trains with star Lu Bin and several other top boxers in China and he has got big part to raise them to the world class level.
