Laos Boxing celebrates its National Day

Laos Boxing celebrates its National Day which was an important milestone in the country’s history. The whole ASBC management are sending their best wishes to the Laos Boxing Federation on this National Day.
Laos was a French protectorate for most of the 20th century and following to the end of the World War II, the resistance leads the foundation of the Pathet Lao organization. Laos became independent after the First Indochina War in 1953 as a constitutional monarchy which turned to a communist monarchy in 1975.
The public holiday marks the end of the monarchy and the establishment of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic in 1975. The celebrations of the National Day include parades and dancing at the famous That Luang Temple and some other important locations in the landlocked country.
Laos competed in several ASBC Asian Boxing Championships in the last decade especially in the women’s elite, men’s elite and youth age groups. The developing country achieved medals in the recent editions of the Southeast Asian Games and few of their boxers won contests also in the ASBC Asian Boxing Championships.
Laos sent small delegation to the Dubai 2021 ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships and also to the Belgrade 2021 AIBA World Boxing Championships. The country has sent their best boxers to the Southeast Asian Games and several other competitions in the previous years and hosted the National Championships annually.
