In the prestigious boxing tournament Kazakhstan’s 18-year-old woman talent Nazym Ishchanova delivered Asia’s second gold medal in Makhachkala.
Sirodjiddin Abdullaev was born in 1995 and he is among the new wave of Kyrgyzstan’s boxing life. He replaced ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships bronze medallist Omurbek Malabekov in the national squad at the Bantamweight class (56 kg) and received the right to compete at the Umakhanov Memorial Tournament in Russia.
The young Kyrgyz talent had to meet in the quarter-final with Russia’s Abdulkhakim Batyrov who competed at the World Series of Boxing and had more experiences than Abdullaev. In spite of the previous chances the 20-year-old Kyrgyz boxer controlled all of the rounds in their contest and won the bout by unanimous decision.
Abdullaev advanced to the semi-final and had to meet with another Russian boxer Murad Rabadanov who is also well-known in the international level and fought in the World Series of Boxing. The Kyrgyz hope was amazing in this semi-final and his speed was the difference in their contest.
Abdullaev exceeded the expectations but he was still hungry for the further success and did his very best in the gold medal bout where he met with Azerbaijan Baku Fires’ WSB boxer Khusein Arsunkaev. The former Kyrgyz Youth National Champion did not give any chance to his attacking rival and his rhythm was different which delivered for him a gold medal in the Umakhanov Memorial Tournament.
Kazakhstan’s AIBA Women’s Youth World Boxing Championships bronze medallist 18-year-old Nazym Ishchanova could not compete at the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships in Astana a few months ago but she came back in top shape at the Umakhanov Memorial Tournament.
