Kyrgyzstan will attend at the ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships with experienced and powerful team

Kyrgyzstan registered a strong team to the upcoming ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships which will be held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on January 20-30. AIBA and ASBC medallists and elite national team members have been selected including Sanzhai Seidakmatov, Mirzakhid Imamnazarov, Nuradin Rustambek Uulu, Omurbek Bekzhigit Uulu and Rustam Yrysbek Uulu.

Mr. Daniyar Tologon Uulu and Mr. Ulan Sagynbayev will lead the Kyrgyz U22 national team as coaches in Tashkent where they have strong expectations. Kyrgyzstan registered one girl and twelve boys to the ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships and many of their boxers could get medals in the Uzbek capital.

Kyrgyzstan claimed several medals in the 2021 ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships and also at the annual ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships in Dubai. The Kyrgyz team amazed also in the Belgrade 2021 AIBA Men’s Elite World Boxing Championships where three of their boxers reached the quarter-finals which is their best ever performance in the event’s history.

The Kyrgyz Boxing Federation is trying to develop the women’s part of the sport and sent young female boxers at the very first time to the 2021 ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships. Their lone girl in Tashkent will be the 19-year-old Ayday Askerova who competed successfully in the recent national championships.

Anvarzhon Khodzhiyev is a super talented 19-year-old boxer at the minimumweight (48kg) who reached the quarter-finals at the Kielce 2021 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships. Baktybek Sadirbek Uulu has got also experiences from several international competitions while their bantamweight (54kg) boxer Sanzhai Seidakmatov was quarter-finalist in the Belgrade 2021 AIBA World Boxing Championships.

Zhakshylyk Tilek Uulu also represented Kyrgyzstan at the Kielce 2021 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships and moved up to the featherweight (57kg). Rysbek Bektenov was silver medallist already in the 2019 Kyrgyz Elite National Championships at the age of 18 and will attend at the lightweight (60kg). The best boxer of the 2021 Kyrgyz Elite National Championships was Zhantoro Tashiyev who earned bronze medal in the 2021 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships but he was replaced by another elite team member, Mirzakhid Imamnazarov.

Sultan Asankul Uulu had junior and youth triumphs and he will join to their U22 team in Tashkent as boxer at the welterweight (67kg). Nuradin Rustambek Uulu was Kyrgyzstan’s first ever ASBC Asian Youth Champion from the 2019 edition and he has all of the skills and experiences to take a top result in Tashkent. Former ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships medallist Daniyar Omurbek Uulu returned to team after a short break.

Omurbek Bekzhigit Uulu was quarter-finalist already at the Bangkok 2019 ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships and the 22-year-old boxer is one of the biggest punchers at the light heavyweight (80kg). The 19-year-old Bakyt Toktosun Uulu and the elite national team member Rustam Yrysbek Uulu both were registered in the heavier weight categories.
