Kuwait hosted its next event, the Junior National Championships

The first Kuwait Junior National Championships was held at the Sabah Al-Salem Boxing Hall and the winners are ready to show their skills in the international stage as well.

The Kuwait Boxing Federation arranged its second competition in this new season and altogether thirteen champions have been crowned in Kuwait City.

Boxers from the 2009 and 2010 age groups were eligible to participate in the Kuwait Junior National Championships.

The young 15 and 16-year-old talents could compete at the 46kg, 48kg, 50kg, 52kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 63kg, 66kg, 70kg, 75kg, 80kg and +80kg weight categories.

The best team of the Kuwait Junior National Championships was the Sulaibikhat Sports Club as in their previous Schoolboys Nationals. The Al-Nasr became the runner-up of the Junior National Championships while Al-Qurain Sports Club was the third in the overall ranking, like in the Schoolboys National Championships.

The first winner of the Junior National Championships was Abdullah Abdul Rahman Hamdan at the busy pinweight (46kg) who controlled all of his fights in the event.

Al Nasr Club’s first gold medal in the event was achieved by Ali Youssef Ali at the light flyweight (48kg) who defeated Saud Raad Mohammed in the final.

Sulaibikhat Sports Club’s Hamad Turki Hamdan had all of the routine from the past to beat his opponents in the national event including Adel Saad Abdullah of Kuwait City Sports Club in the final of the flyweight (50kg).

Al Nasr Club’s three further talents such as Hussain Bader Ajeel (52kg), Abdullah Salem Baser (57kg) and Shehab Ahmed Rashed (63kg) won busy categories in the junior national event.

Aljahra Boxing Club’s lone gold medal was achieved by Abdullah Khalil Ahmed at the lightweight (60kg) after beating Fahaheil Club’s Mohammad Abd Shater in the final.

Al-Qurain Sports Club’s Ahmed Nouf (66kg), Bader Hassan Ali (70kg) and Faisal Mahmoud Faisal (80kg) earned gold medals for their prestigious team.

Kuwait has traditions in the heaviest weight category and their Sulaibikhat Sports Club’s Youssef Ahmad Hamad was too strong for Mohammed Eid Oudh at the heavyweight (+80kg).

The Kuwait Boxing Federation is planning to arrange another Junior National Championships in a few months.
