Kazakhstan National Team Cup started with the quarter-finals and Adilbek Niyazymbetov was excellent after Rio

The National Team Cup in the Republic of Kazakhstan for the elite men boxers began with its quarter-finals this year in different locations. Teams of Pavlodar, Aktau, Taraz and Mangystau region competed in this phase of the National Team Cup with their best possible line-ups in all of the ten male weight classes.
APB Champion and Rio 2016 Olympian Berik Abdrakhmanov also competed in this event in spite of the fact he competed in the August’s Games in Brazil a few weeks ago. The Lightweight class (60 kg) boxer was not enough successful in the Incheon 2014 Asian Games and in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games but he did not give up his dreams and returned to the trainings quickly after the Brazilian event.
London 2012 Olympic Games and Rio 2016 Olympic Games silver medallist Adilbek Niyazymbetov also joined to his team to raise the level of the National Team Cup short after his main event this year. The 27-year-old Incheon 2014 Asian Games winner Light Heavyweight class (81 kg) boxer dominated his two contests in the National Cup and proved his best performance in the home competition.
South region’s Taraz city defeated Aktau in the first match of the quarter-final phase of the National Team Cup. Their young talent 19-year-old Alimzhan Beskempir, Dulat Bekbaulov, WSB boxer Sagadat Rakhmankulov and Super Heavyweight class (+91 kg) hope Nursultan Amanzholov proved top performance and defeated their Western region’s rival from Aktau in the narrow encounter.
Mangystau region was too strong for Taraz as their best boxers were their in the National Team Cup. Former National Champion Azamat Isakulov, WSB boxer and ASBC Asian Youth Champion Nurbol Kalzhanov and their Rio 2016 Olympian stars Berik Abdrakhmanov and Adilbek Niyazymbetov won their contests in the National Team Cup. Taraz delivered a few successes also in that encounter but Mangystau region was in different level. Mangystau region’s Yerik Alzhanov had a key contest at the Middleweight class (75 kg) against 2015 ASBC Asian Youth Boxer of the Year Abilkhan Amankul and he was able to control that important bout against his teenage rival.
Pavlodar, which city hosted the 2016 ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships in May, defeated Aktau in the quarter-finals. Their Sabyr Kuanysh, Bocskai Memorial Tournament bronze medallist Shaimurat Kusainov, Serik Musadilov and National Championships runner-up Olzhas Bukayev won their contests but 20-year-ol talent Ilya Ochkin lost to Raimbek Tukenov which was a big surprise in the National Team Cup.
Mangystau region continued its great performance in the quarter-final stage of the National Team Cup and defeated city of Pavlodar. Among their key boxers Azamat Isakulov defeated Erlan Tamemov, Nurbol Kalzhanov triumphed over Sabyr Kuanysh, Berik Abdrakhmanov stopped Chingiz Sizdikov while Adilbek Niyazymbetov outpointed Shaimurat Kusainov in the match. Mangystau region’s young talent Magzhan Bazarbay lost to Pavlodar’s Serik Musadilov at the Heavyweight class (91 kg) which was a surprise in the event.
The semi-finals and finals of the National Team Cup in the Republic of Kazakhstan will be held still this year. Further top boxers will be competing in the National Team Cup in the later part of the event.
