Kazakhstan announced its 12-strong women’s team for Chiang Mai including titleholder Alua Balkybekova

Kazakhstan selected its female team to the upcoming ASBC Asian Elite Men and Women Boxing Championships which will be held in Chiang Mai, Thailand from November 28 and will be lasting until December 12.
Kazakhstan’s coaching staff are still arranging the final sparring sessions for their men’s national team but their travelling female squad has announced and the Central Asian boxing power will be there in Chiang Mai with maximum number of 12 girls.
Kazakhstan achieved two gold medals in the 2022 ASBC Asian Women’s Boxing Championships and one of their titleholders will be there also in Chiang Mai. The coaching staff of the female national team selected several younger talents and they started to build up the new squad after the Paris Olympics.
Aigerim Sattibayeva is an experienced boxer at the women’s minimumweight (48kg) and she returned to the national squad after a few years. Alua Balkybekova achieved the title at the minimumweight (48kg) in the last edition of the event in Amman but she moved up to the light flyweight (50kg) this year to compete in an Olympic division.
Zhazira Urakbayeva made her debut for Kazakhstan’s top team at the 2022 ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships and she earned a bronze medal in Amman. The bantamweight’s Symbat Aliaskar is a new face in the elite national team but she competed in the junior and youth age groups successfully.
The two-time ASBC Asian Youth Champion Ulzhan Sarsenbek made her debut in the elite national team at the World Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event but the 19-year-old talent is also still new in the squad. The tall Viktoriya Grafeyeva is the most developed boxer in the national team and she has strong expectations at the women’s lightweight (60kg).
Aida Abikeyeva bagged her first international medals still back in 2015 and the 26-year-old boxer will aim for a title at the light welterweight (63kg). Milana Safronova, the former Women’s World bronze medallist, returned also to the national team and the 33-year-old boxer will be their new welterweight (66kg) boxer in Chiang Mai.
Natalia Bogdanova was a new sensation in the national team last year, she claimed a bronze medal at the Asian Games and she will be making her debut at the light welterweight (70kg) in Chiang Mai. Diana Magauyayeva competed in the junior, youth and U22 national teams for Kazakhstan and she moved down to the middleweight (75kg).
Gulsaya Yerzhan was silver medallist in the last edition of the ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships in Amman and she was selected once again at the light heavyweight (81kg). Yeldana Talipova is a 22-year-old talent at the heavyweight (+81kg) who replaced the veteran Lazzat Kungeibayeva and she has the international routine from the last seven years.
