Karaganda hosted the Abubakirov & Kydyralin Tournament for the youngest boxers

The Abubakirov & Kydyralin Memorial Tournament was held in the city of Karaganda in the recent days and the youngest generation of boxers showed up in the competition.

The competition was named after Mr. Bektas Abubakirov who competed in the international events for Kazakhstan at the bantamweight (54kg) between 1990 and 1996. He represented the country in all levels of boxing and he claimed the gold medal at the 1995 Asian Boxing Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Additionally, the schoolboys and junior competition in Karaganda (Karagandy) was also named after another former boxer, Mr. Yeleussiz Kydyralin.

The boxers who were born in 2011, 2012 and 2013 were eligible to participate in the Abubakirov & Kydyralin Memorial Tournament. The oldest 2009 and 2010 born athletes competed in the junior part of the tournament in Karagandy.

Mr. Galymbek Kenzhebayev is a famous coach in Kazakhstan, he was the head coach of the elite and youth national teams in the past. His son Asylzhan Kenzhebayev competed in the event as one of the youngest participants as he was born in 2013 and he managed his pathway to the finals but the older Zhangazy Nurlan defeated him for the 30kg title.

The second winner of the competition was also born in 2012, Aibar Tokenov outpointed Ibrakhim Zhumagali at the 33kg weight class. Among the next winners in the competition, Yersultan Margupbek (35kg) and Ali Nagashybek (37kg) both are only 13-year-old.

Yerassyl Aitkozhayev was the first boxer in the competition who defeated his opponent in the final by RSC, he stopped Yerlik Karyzhan at the schoolboys 40kg. Nazar Slyusaryov was also too strong for his rival, Vladimir Fomenko of Ushtobe at the 54kg final contest.  

Tamerlan Ayazbayev (43kg), Temirlan Azad (46kg) and Zhan Rymkhan (52kg) all were able to beat their opponents in the final bouts by 2:1 split decisions in Karagandy.

Daryn Bazaraly had an energetic performance against Ramazan Alshinbayev in the junior pinweight (46kg) final and his rival ringside abandoned the contest.

Karagandy’s Ali Sagyndykov was born in a boxing family and he followed the traditions with his gold medal at the junior flyweight (50kg) which he achieved against Emir Yersenov.

Beknur Abdikhan (54kg), Mansur Erik (57kg), Kenbeyil Aitbek (60kg) and Daniil Shulezhko (66kg) were the remaining junior winners in Karagandy.
