The last part of the junior female semi-finals was held at the ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships in Astana, Kazakhstan during the evening session today. Chinese Taipei’s Kao Chun Ai and Kazakhstan’s Aruzhan Zeinollayeva were fantastic in the session when Uzbekistan’s Rukhshona Parpiyeva made a revenge due to her previous loss.

Kao Chun Ai is Chinese Taipei’s second finalist

Kazakhstan’s Aisulu Mukhit had the strong motivation against Chinese Taipei’s Kao Chun Ai and she reached the target a few times in their opener. The 16-year-old talent from Chinese Taipei switched into a higher tempo in the second round and she delivered her best in that middle part of this welterweight (66kg) semi-final. Kao had an excellent finish in their meeting and she became the second female junior finalist in the championship. Chinese Taipei’s strong talent will be boxing for the title of the weight class with India’s Nidhi Dhull who eliminated Vietnam’s Nguyen Hong Hai Bang.

Yessimbekova’s attacks paid off in the semi-final

Kazakhstan’s Aibota Yessimbekova is a newcomer in the international stage but she spent less than one round in the ring against Mongolia’s multiple National Champion Enkhgerel Gerelmunkh in their light middleweight (70kg) semi-final. India’s Akansha Phalaswal and Uzbekistan’s Raykhona Kurbonboyeva had equal technical skills in their semi-final therefore the decision was depended on their performance in the third round. The referee counted the Uzbek one time in the final round which was decisive in this narrow contest and the Indian joined the title contest.

Kazakhstan vs. Uzbekistan at the women’s junior middleweight final

Vietnam’s Tran Thanh Tuyen surprised Kazakhstan’s Aruzhan Zeinollayeva in the first round of their women’s middleweight (75kg) semi-final. Tran had a nice shot in the beginning of the second round but Zeinollayeva had the responses immediately to her attacks and the Kazakh was slightly better in the middle part of the contest. Zeinollayeva, who moved down two categories, mobilized all of her energies in the last round and she was able to turn back thus semi-final contest in Astana. Uzbekistan’s Maftuna Yangiyeva dominated the second semi-final against India’s Wasan Kritika and she will be Zeinollayeva’s final opponent in Astana.

Parpiyeva made a revenge due to her loss in Amman

Kazakhstan’s Kuralay Yeginbaikyzy and Uzbekistan’s Rukhshona Parpiyeva were new names in the international stage in 2022 when they met in the semi-finals of the ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships in Amman. The Kazakh won that contest one and half year ago but both developed their athletic and technical skills since that meeting. The Kazakh light heavyweight (80kg) boxer had a short advantage on the scorecards after two minutes of fight but Parpiyeva worked better in the final parts and she defeated the current ASBC Asian Junior Champion in this weight class. Parpiyeva will have an Indian rival in the final, Megha Sheokand who stopped Chinese Taipei’s Tseng An Chi.

Shakhobiddinova remained her chance alive to defend her heavyweight title

Kazakhstan’s Panar Seitkankyzy had a hard job in the semi-finals against Uzbekistan’s defending ASBC Asian Junior Champion at the heavyweight (+80kg), Sobirakhon Shakhobiddinova. The Kazakh had the weight advantage in this semi-final contest but the 16-year-old Uzbek looked quicker in the exchanges after two minutes of fight. Shakhobiddinova had to put all of her power and stamina to beat the local girl in Astana and she will now meet for the gold India’s Bhumisha Sharma.
