Kanto University Boxing League in Japan
Nihon University is the champion in the Kanto University Boxing League in Japan
The Kanto University Boxing League finished in Japan where Nihon University is one the champion after Ashiya University which team won the Kansai University Boxing League this year. Japan will be the host of the 2020 Olympic Games therefore the country is focusing to the sport more actively in the recent years.
Both champions will be boxing for the title to decide which one is the best in an upcoming event at the 70th All Japan University Boxing Championships which will be taking place on December 10 later this year.
Tomoya Tsuboi of Nihon University won all of his five contests in the Kanto University Boxing League and became the most successful boxer at the Light Flyweight class (49 kg) this season. He has got perfect 15-0 record altogether in the Kanto University Boxing League and he is planning to reach five further successes in 2017 which would be a historical step for the youngster. Kenji Fujita was the last one who could win all of his 20 bouts in the Kanto University Boxing League under four years.
Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympian 20-year-old Subaru Murata defeated one of his main rival Japanese National Championships silver medallist Nobuaki Kanazawa in Round 5 and won all of the three bouts in the season. The Flyweight class (52 kg) boxer could be Japan’s great weapon in the upcoming Olympic era and in the main ASBC and AIBA events.
Japanese National Championships silver medallist 21-year-old Mikito Nakano of Tokyonougyo University competed in the Bantamweight class (56 kg) this season of the Kanto University Boxing League and he won all of his five contests in the recent weeks. Nakano has got also international experiences and his technique is great enough to do surprises in the upcoming years.
Arashi Morisaka qualified for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games following his great performance in the World Olympic Qualification Event in Baku. Japan’s 20-year-old pride boxed in the Kanto University Boxing League to prepare well for the Olympic Games and supported his squad in the current season. In the fifth round he had to meet with ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships bronze medallist Masaya Kobayashi at the Lightweight class (60 kg) but he was able to win that spectacular contest.
Japanese National Championships bronze medallist 21-year-old Ri Gonte defeated Tammer Tournament quarter-finalist Masahiro Suzuki in Round 5 at the Light Welterweight class (64 kg) while strong Go Hosaka of Komazawa University defeated Ryutaro Nakahara in the same weekend. Ri Gonte won all of his five contests in the current season and he is near to join to Japan’s top team in the upcoming months.
Youth Olympic Games silver medallist Toshihiro Suzuki had an amazing success over Jin Murakami while AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships competitor Naoki Harada triumphed over Masanori Urashima in the important Round 5 of the Kanto University Boxing League. In an earlier stage Harada was able to beat Suzuki in the key bout of the Welterweight class (69 kg) which was a small surprise.
Ren Umemura of Takusyoku University is only 19 who competed for Japan in the recent junior, youth and student international events. The Middleweight class (75 kg) teenager stopped one of his main rival Kenta Harada of Toyo University in the fifth round of the League and proved top performance once again.
