Kamolov, Iksanov and Gafurov won the best finals at the Tajikistan Youth National Championships

The Tajikistan Boxing Federation hosted its first event this year, the Youth National Championships in their capital city in Dushanbe.
Tajikistan made historic results in the recent years in all levels of boxing but their best performance was at the 2024 ASBC Asian Junior & Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Boxing Championships in Al Ain, UAE. Tajikistan’s new sensation, Akmal Ubaidov achieved an unexpected gold medal at the recent ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships.
Boxers who were born in 2007 and in 2008 were eligible to participate in the Tajikistan Youth National Championships where 17 talents earned their gold medals.
Bashorat Shovaliyeva earned the first title in the women’s part of the Youth Nationals, she defeated Mavzuna Fayzaliyeva in the final of the light flyweight (50kg). Noziya Sharifova followed her success, she had a strong performance in the final of the featherweight (57kg) against Zarifa Khasanova.
Mino Azamzoda claimed a bronze medal at the lightweight (60kg) in the 2023 ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships in Astana. She defeated Nazokati Shoismat to take the title of the light welterweight (63kg) while Mukharramkhon Toshkhudjayeva bagged the fourth female title in Dushanbe.
Abubakr Khasanzoda, whose brothers are also boxers, was highly successful over Alisheri Akhmadkhon at the men’s minimumweight (48kg) final.
The ASBC Asian Junior Championships silver medallist Jakhongir Kamolov and another Asian medallist talent, Mansurkhuja Muminov met in the most exciting final of the Youth National Championships. Both have wonderful technical skills, long-distance tactics and in their chess game, Kamolov was better in the flyweight (51kg) final.
Biloldzhon Iksanov, the reigning ASBC Asian Junior Champion, joined the youth age group this January and he dominated the bantamweight (54kg) final against Anis Khabibulloyev. Another international stage boxer, Zoir Khudjabekov defeated Shodmekhr Davlatov for the title of the featherweight (57kg).
Akhmadshokh Khoshimov was also born in 2008 as Iksanov and many of the top Tajik talents but he made a great debut among the youth boxers at the lightweight (60kg). The Aitenov Brothers Youth Tournament bronze medallist Mukhammadsulton Sultonov defeated Isfandiyor Khoshimov to win the exciting welterweight (67kg) final.
Abubakr Gafurov, the ASBC Asian Junior Championships bronze medallist, moved up to the middleweight (75kg) and he defeated another top talent, Ziyoratsho Kosimov, who had also strong results in the Asian events.
Abdugafor Umarov (80kg), Rustam Mamadpanoyev (86kg) and Shukrullo Mirzoyev (92kg) accomplished their goals, the gold medals in Dushanbe. Idris Ilnazarov won the strong Aitenov Brothers Youth Tournament in Kazakhstan but he lost to Sunatullo Nozimov in the final of the super heavyweight (+92kg).
