Japan’s Yuga Fujiki’s world-class performance guaranteed a medal for him in Astana

The winners of the evening session all secured their medals at the ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships in Astana, Kazakhstan. Japan’s Yuga Fujiki made one of the best performances in the session, he dominated his contest over his Indian rival.
Hong Kong, India, Iran, Iraq, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Palestine, Philippines, Tajikistan, Thailand, Chinese Taipei, Turkmenistan, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, and Yemen are the 22 participating nations in the event.
Amantur Dzhumayev is Kyrgyzstan’s first medallist
Turkmenistan’s Jeyhun Dovranov was taller than Kyrgyzstan’s Amantur Dzhumayev and he tried to use his distance in the opening exchanges. The Kyrgyz light bantamweight (52kg) boxer demonstrated his power still in the first round and he had the speed to catch Dovranov with heavy shots. The newcomer from Turkmenistan had to go to the medical corner and after two standings counts the referee stopped the bout and confirmed Dzhumayev’s RSC victory. The Kyrgyz talent will be meeting Japan’s Tomu Kataoka who defeated a strong Tajik boxer, Abubakr Kobilov today.
Ergashev and Chaemdi are semi-finalists at the bantamweight
Uzbekistan’s Shakhbozbek Ergashev and Mongolia’s Bulgankhuu Amgalanbaatar both won their openers in the championships on Day1. The 16-year-old Uzbek was slightly better in the first round and he knocked down the Mongolian in the second which increased his confidence for the later parts of the bout. Amgalanbaatar opened the third round with a strong jab but Ergashev’s double punches were decisive and that resulted and Uzbek medal in Astana. Thailand’s Aphichit Chaemdi won the next bantamweight (54kg) contest, the young talent eliminated Iran’s Heydar Abadi Pouya Karimian.
Sadirov and Ditpoo were the next winners in the session
Kyrgyzstan’s Dilerbek Sadirov is a tall southpaw boxer at the featherweight (57kg) who used his left hand to catch Iraq’s Hussein Watheq in the first round of their quarter-final. The referee counted the Iraqi boxer in the second round which was the Kyrgyz talent’s best period in this contest. Watheq had a strong weapon, his right-handed hooks but only in the third round therefore Sadirov earned Kyrgyzstan’s second junior medal after Dzhumayev. Kazakhstan’s Alikhan Asker and Thailand’s Nattajakapan Ditpoo did not take care of their defenses, both boxers attacked continuously and in that game the Southeast Asian was slightly better.
Uzbek and Indian triumphs at the featherweight
Uzbekistan’s Sukhrob Rakhmatullayev moved forward in the first round and tried to keep Philippines’ John Steven Demaisip on close which is his best fighting distance. The Filipino was competitive mostly in the first round but following that he could not avoid the Uzbek attacks effectively. Rakhmatullayev wanted to win this quarter-final bout so much and he was succeeded due to his second and third rounds. The Uzbek will now meet in the semi-final India’s Yogesh Dhanda who had a clear success over Chinese Taipei’s Lin Po Yu.
Japan’s Yuga Fujiki made world-class performance on Day3
Japan’s best junior boxer, Yuga Fujiki knew his opponent’s weak points and he landed nice shots against India’s Punshiba Singh Moirangthem in the first round. He overcame the Indian in the attacks and sometimes he could also counter Singh therefore all of the judges favored the Japanese boxer after two minutes of fight. Fujiki dominated the second round against the strong Indian and he was better in all aspects of boxing today. Kazakhstan’s Asker Kuanysh won all of the three rounds against Jordan’s Akram Zeaeh in the next lightweight (60kg) bout in Astana.
Saidakbarov and Abdullayev were Uzbekistan’s next stars in the evening session
Uzbekistan’s Sardorbek Saidakbarov claimed a silver medal at the Heydar Aliyev Junior Cup this year and he looked too experienced for Chinese Taipei’s Su Bo Yu in their lightweight (60kg) contest which ended in the second round. His teammate, the middleweight (75kg) Norbek Abdullayev spent one and half round in the ring and the referee stopped his contest against Kyrgyzstan’s Sadyr Rakhmanberdiyev.
Alpysbayev and Dara won their middleweight contests
Kazakhstan’s southpaw, Zhandos Alpysbayev used his strong jabs well enough in the second round against Mongolia’s Erdenechuluun Bilguun following the first tactical period. The Kazakh middleweight (75kg) boxer produced a much better second round and he outpointed the Mongolian with his jabs. Iran’s Ebadolrahman Dara and Vietnam’s Tran Nhat Thanh both were strong punchers in the last bout of the day and the first succeeded among them.
