India’s Sachin and AIBA World Champion Yeraliyev amazed the crowd in the Republic of Kazakhstan President’s Cup on Day3

The sixth edition of the Republic of Kazakhstan President’s Cup is holding in their capital city in Astana and the competition continued with its third day. Twenty-four contests have been held on Day3 in Astana where India’s AIBA Youth World Champion Sachin Siwach Singh and Kazakhstan’s AIBA World Champion Kayrat Yeraliyev have done superb performance.
The event is a top preparation event for the Jakarta 2018 Asian Games and the finals will be held on June 10 and 14 champions will be crowned in the last competition day. Altogether 38 women boxers and 124 male athletes are attending in the sixth edition of the Republic of Kazakhstan President’s Cup in Astana.
The Republic of Kazakhstan President’s Cup is traditionally one of the strongest Asian international events where the top boxing nations such as Russia, United States of America, China, India, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Thailand, Japan, Philippines, Sweden and Mongolia are all taking parts.
Kazakhstan’s Anvar Muzaparov is not the best among the host country’s flyweight (52kg) boxers but he did a sensational performance in the third competition day. The 26-year-old Kazakh boxer spent only a short time in the ring when Uzbekistan’s ASBC Asian Champion and two-time AIBA World Boxing Championships silver medallist Jasurbek Latipov injured which meant Muzaparov delivered a big sensation with his quick triumph on Day3.
India’s AIBA Youth World Champion Sachin Siwach Singh had a lot of tough opponents in his homeland at the light flyweight (49kg) and decided to move up to the flyweight (52kg) in the recent months. Sachin, who is still only 18, used his longer reach once again and defeated Thailand’s Wuttichai Yurachai in his second bout in Astana.
Kazakhstan’s defending AIBA World Champion Kayrat Yeraliyev did not compete too much in 2018 yet but his preparations were successful to the Republic of Kazakhstan President’s Cup. The bantamweight (56kg) star defeated Mongolia’s young Munkhbaatar Tsagaanbaatar by unanimous decision using his best rhythm in the bout. Yeraliyev won all of the rounds as the scoring of 10:9 which was a clear success for him in Astana.
United States’ Duke Ragan was silver medallist in the Hamburg 2017 AIBA World Boxing Championships when he lost to Kayrat Yeraliyev. The US boxer is currently only No.2 in his homeland behind to AIBA Youth World Champion Marc Castro but he is still in top shape. The 21-year-old US hope attacked from the first seconds and took the control quickly against Kazakhstan’s Nurbol Kalzhanov who was a competitive rival for him but Ragan was able to win their top bout in Astana.
Kazakhstan’s Incheon 2014 Asian Games winner Ilyas Suleimenov proved top performance in the WSB and in all AOB tournaments this year and focusing to get the top place in the national team. The experienced London 2012 Olympian Suleimenov landed lethal punches against Turkmenistan’s Zarip Jumayev already in the first round and the referee confirmed his RSC success quickly.
Turkmenistan’s Islamic Solidarity Games silver medallist Yakub Meredov landed tough punches against Kazakhstan’s AIBA World Boxing Championships bronze medallist Berik Abdrakhmanov and the ringside doctor ended their contest still in the first round on Day2. Meredov had to fight also in the third competition day but his efforts were not enough to eliminate Russia’s Gabil Mamedov in Astana.
Mongolia’s Rio 2016 Olympic Games quarter-finalist Erdenebat Tsendbaatar is among Asia’s best lightweight (60kg) boxers who proved tough performance against India’s Buntee Singh in the second competition day winning the bout by unanimous decision. The 22-year-old Mongolian returned to the national team with strong performance and continued his winning path against China’s Shan Jun on Day 3.
Uzbekistan’s AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships bronze medallist Shunkor Abdurasulov won their Elite National Championships as a teenager last November and joined to the elite squad this season. The Uzbek lightweight (60kg) eliminated Kazakhstan’s ASBC Asian Youth Champion and AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships silver medallist Samatali Toltayev and repeated that strong performance against Philippines’ Incheon 2014 Asian Games silver medallist Charly Suarez.
Kazakhstan’s AIBA World Boxing Championships bronze medallist Ablaikhan Zhussupov was too smart for Thailand’s Sinsiri Bunjong in their welterweight (69kg) contest. His main rivals such as Uzbekistan’s Makhmud Gaipov, Thailand’s three-time Olympian Saylom Ardee and Kazakhstan’s WSB star Aslanbek Shymbergenov all defeated world class rivals and advanced to the semi-finals as Zhussupov.
Uzbekistan’s Rio 2016 Olympic Games silver medallist Bektemir Melikuziev is in strong shape and he proved that in Astana on Day3 when he stopped India’s Devanshu Jaiswal after four minutes of fight and will be meeting with Kazakhstan’s AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships silver medallist Bekzat Nurdauletov who defeated Turkmenistan’s Nuryagdy Nuryagdyyev in a spectacular contest.
