India’s Manish Kaushik and the Syrian Ghossoun brothers were amazing in the semi-finals of the Makran Box Cup in Chabahar

The Makran Box Cup is holding in the city of Chabahar in Iran and the competition turned into its final phase following the exciting actions at the semi-finals. Iran’s Omid Ahmadisafa, Kazakhstan’s Nurbol Kalzhanov, India’s Manish Kaushik, Iran’s Moslem Maghsoudi and the Syrian Ghossoun brothers produced the best performances at the semi-finals.
The competition is scheduled to take place for the men’s elite boxers and the event will be a preparation for the ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships and other important goals in 2019. Besides to the medals cash prizes will be awarded for the best teams during the International Elite Men’s Tournament.

Iran’s Omid Ahmadisafa advanced to the finals of the flyweight (52kg)
Iran’s Omid Ahmadisafa attended in the recent main ASBC competitions and won international competitions in Mongolia, in Kazakhstan and achieved silver in the Thailand Open International Boxing Tournament last July. The 27-year-old Iranian eliminated his teammate Mojtaba Zariean in the semi-finals of the flyweight (52kg) and advanced to the finals. His final opponent will be India’s former AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships bronze medallist Lalitha Prasad Polipalli who was too smart for Philippines’ Marvin Tabamo in Chabahar.

Kazakhstan’s Nurbol Kalzhanov returned to Iran after nine years and secured his place in the final of the bantamweight (56kg)
Kazakhstan’s Nurbol Kalzhanov claimed gold medal at the 2010 ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships which was held in Iran’s capital in Tehran. After nine years Kalzhanov returned to Iran and he has done his very best in the semi-finals of the bantamweight (56kg) which was a hectic battle. The 27-year-old Kazakh boxer, who has got experiences also from the World Series Boxing, had an open fight against Philippines’ Junmilaro Ogayre who had brave attacks against the technician Kalzhanov. Kazakhstan’s hope landed tough punches in the third round and the ringside doctor finished their bout before the final gong. Kalzhanov’s next opponent will be Iran’s experienced Sajjad Mohammadpour in the final of the Makran Box Cup.

India’s Manish Kaushik performed strongly at the lightweight (60kg)
India’s Manish Kaushik impressed in the recent one and half year and defeated world class Cuban, Russian, Kazakh and Filipino boxers during his campaigns. The 23-year-old Indian top talent claimed silver medal in the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games but he is still in promising stage in our sport. Kaushik was highly confident against a younger hope Iran’s Ashkan Rezaei in the semi-finals of the lightweight (60kg) and marched to the title bout in Chabahar. Kaushik’s final opponent will be Iran’s Budapest 2018 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships competitor 19-year-old Danial Shakhbakhsh who eliminated a local hope Ali Khabibi in the event.

Iran’s Moslem Maghsoudi is their new weapon at the light welterweight (64kg)
Iran’s 23-year-old Moslem Maghsoudi is two-time National Champion but the Bocskai Memorial Tournament was his first elite international competition two and half weeks ago in Debrecen, Hungary. Maghsoudi robbed in that traditional competition and earned silver medal in Hungary which was a top sensation. The Iranian boxer continued his winning path in the Makran Box Cup and he won all of the rounds against Hungary’s National Champion Milan Fodor in the semi-finals. Maghsoudi will be facing for the title with his compatriot Bagher Faraji who eliminated India’s Rohit Tokas in Chabahar.

The Syrian Ghossoun brothers shined in the semi-finals
Syria sent a powerful team to the Makran Box Cup and among them three boxers joined to the finals of the new international competition. ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships bronze medallist Ahmad Ghossoun eliminated Iran’s star Seyed Shahin Mousavi in the semi-finals of the middleweight (75kg) as first. Following his amazing success his elder brother Alaaldin Ghossoun caused another sensation in Chabahar where he was slightly better than Iran’s Olympic Games quarter-finalist Ehsan Rouzbahani who returned to the world of boxing after two years of break. Syria’s third finalist will be Mohamed Moulayes at the super heavyweight (+91kg).
