Historical successes for Afghanistan and Macau in the Indonesian President’s Cup
Sixteen tough contests were held in the fourth competition day at the 23rd edition of the Indonesian President’s Cup in Labuan Bajo. Komodo’s boxing paradise saw several surprises on Day4 including Afghanistan’s powerful RSC success and Macau’s historical victory in the President’s Cup.
Altogether 34 women and 55 men boxers will be attending in the Indonesian President’s Cup in Labuan Bajo. The gold, silver and bronze medalists and the best team of the event will be received money prizes at the 23rd President’s Cup. Among the world’s best squads United States of America, India, South Korea, Ukraine, Thailand, Italy, Australia and many others are competing in Labuan Bajo.
Philippines’ Crissan Paul Diacamos is a newcomer in the national team but he managed to win his quarter-final contest against Singapore’s former Youth Olympian and experienced Mohamed Hanurdeen Bin Hamid. In another flyweight (52kg) contest Afghanistan’s Ramish Rahmani delivered a superb success on Day4 and stopped Ukraine’s Maksym Fatych winning the bout by RSC and claiming a guaranteed medal in Labuan Bajo.
South Korea’s You Gi Heon is a talented light welterweight (64kg) boxer who can box out of his country at the very first time but he had the skills to beat Singapore’s Tay Jia Wei in the fourth competition day. India’s Ankush Dahiya reached strong youth results three years ago but now he is a tough elite boxer who stopped Afghanistan’s Belal Noor and won their contest by a classic KO in Labuan Bajo.
Macau sent boxers to the Indonesian President’s Cup and their light welterweight (64kg) hope Leung Kin Fong delivered a sensational triumph which was also a historical one in the event. Leung was too smart for Hong Kong’s Cheung Shun Hang and the judges picked him as the winner of this quarter-final bout. Leung won the bout unanimously and advanced to the semi-finals of the President’s Cup achieving his career highlight.
India’s Gee Bee Tournament silver medallist Dinesh Dagar was involved to the international events two years ago but his hard work paid off quickly and dominated his next fight against Indonesia’s Defri Naumeo at the welterweight (69kg). In that division Indonesia’s tough Saputra Samada landed his combinations with perfect timing and the referee confirmed his RSC success over South Korea’s Kim Do Gyeong.
Maikel Robert Muskita is a great Indonesian boxing talent who competed in the Budapest 2018 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships as well. Muskita’s strength and skills were too much for his compatriot Amatus Alfando Bame who abandoned their fight. In another middleweight (75kg) contest Vietnam’s Nguyen Manh Cuong was technically better than Indonesia’s Janes Siregar.
