Former English National Champion Mr. Tony Davis is the head coach of the Bahrain boxing team and the key of their developments. He left the GB coaching staff on December 2018 and joined as head coach to the Bahrain Boxing Federation to support the developing Gulf country.

Mr. Viorel Sima is an experienced Romanian boxing official who joined to the Bahrain Boxing Federation in 2019. He is strengthening the federation with his huge experiences and boxing knowledge. Their boxers attended in the 2016 Gulf Countries Tournament in Riyadh and the squad trained in Saudi Arabia in a joint camp.

Bahrain re-joined to the Asian boxing map in 2019 and attended at the Bangkok 2019 ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships. Noorineesa Noorahmed Ameer Jan attended at the women’s flyweight (51kg) while Muhammad Bilal Muhammad Zaman Moshwani, who was born in Pakistan in 1999 but his family moved to Bahrain when he was a child, represented Bahrain at the men’s flyweight (52kg).

Bahrain Boxing Federation welcomed Team Kuwait to a friendly encounter which was held in their capital city in Manama at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. The final result was 6:3 in the favour of Bahrain and the most exciting bout of the Dual Match was won by host nation’s Denis Latypov who won the super heavyweight (+91kg) fight by RSC. He had height disadvantage in the bout but his aggressive attacks and effective jabs paid off which delivered Bahrain’s first ever success in the history of any of the ASBC Asian Boxing Championships.

Bahrain is planning to host the next edition of the ASBC Asian Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Boxing Championships in 2021.
