Four days left until the start of the ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships

Four days left until the start of the upcoming ASBC Asian Elite Men’s and Women’s Boxing Championships which has been relocated from New Delhi, India to Dubai, United Arab Emirates with the same regulations and protocols. The final countdown started to the ASBC Asian Elite Men’s and Women’s Boxing Championships on Monday and only four days left until the first contests of the event.

The Mongolians proved excellent performance in the Grand Prix Usti nad Labem in the Czech Republic and after that their team trained in Germany where thy met with the host nation’s squad and with the Cuban stars. Mongolia’s Erdenebat Tsendbaatar’s main target is to defend his throne in Dubai and beat all of his Asian rivals once again.

Tajikistan confirmed their final line-ups to the ASBC Asian Elite Men’s and Women’s Boxing Championships which contains eleven boxers including four talented girls. The team will be arriving to Dubai with four experienced coaches and has got strong medal expectations in several weight categories.

AIBA confirmed that at the very first time, the continental event will be a money prize competition for those who earn medals in Dubai. The sport entries check will be held on 22 May while the Technical Meeting and the Official Draw is scheduled to take place on 23 May. The first competition day at the Le Meridien Hotel’s Grand Ballroom is 24 May and the final preparations are arranging the busy ASBC staff to make a wonderful event in Dubai.

The new edition of the ASBC Asian Elite Men’s and Women’s Boxing Championships will be the first continental event after one and half year of break due to the spread of Covid-19. The last ASBC event was the Grand Slam Boxing Championships in Xiamen, China on December 2019. The recent ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships was held in Bangkok, Thailand on April 2019.

The arrivals of the delegations to the ASBC Asian Elite Men’s and Women’s Boxing Championships are this week and after the sport entries check and official draw, the competition will be starting on the 24th of May. The finals are scheduled on the 31st of May in Dubai where twenty champions will be crowned.

The Olympic Games is the most important event of the year and the ASBC President Mr. Anas Alotaiba decided to hold the ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships as active preparation before Tokyo. The competition will be held with Covid-19 protocols which were successful in all of the previous tournaments. Boxers who were born between 1980 and 2002, are eligible to attend in the ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships in the United Arab Emirates where high number of Tokyo Olympians will be attending from several top nations.
