Four Asian Championships decided to be held in 2021 following the decision of the ASBC Competition Commission Meeting

The ASBC Competition Commission Meeting was held also online as the Women’s Commission Meeting and the previous Executive Committee Meeting. The application of Zoom was used to reach all members at the ASBC Competition Commission Meeting. The meeting was led by the Chairman of the ASBC Competition Commission Mr. Kishen Narsi of India who attended also in their shadowboxing challenge three months ago.

Among the 13 members of the ASBC Competition Commission Meeting 11 attended in the online discussions. Next to the Chairman Mr. Kishen Narsi, Mr. Viorel Sima of Bahrain, Mr. Firas Mossa Omran Alhesnawy of Iraq, Mrs. Liang Yuan of China, Mr. Walid Jarrar of Jordan, Mr. Kim Ki Suk of South Korea, Mr. Billy Vong Kuok Veng of Macau, Mr. Shyam Awale of Nepal, Mr. Kraitach Kaewkate of Thailand, Mr. Abdulla Alzabi of the United Arab Emirates and Mr. Munkhbayar Purevjav of Mongolia joined to the online meeting.

The ASBC Competition Commission Meeting was opened by ASBC Sports Director Mr. Omar Aljabri who welcomed all members and informed the participants about the goals of the negotiations. The Chairman of the ASBC Competition Commission Mr. Kishen Narsi of India arranged a brief introduction and the current situation about the Covid-19 virus.

All of the participating members commented the situation of Covid-19 in their countries and the training possibilities of their national teams. According to the point of views of the members, all National Federations have to follow the news of the Covid-19 situation in the upcoming two months to check the possibility of the safety of the boxers, coaches and officials in the upcoming events.

Trainings, sparring camps, local or dual events could be the highlights of the upcoming two months in the Asian boxing map to give chance for the boxers to regain their confidence in the ring. ASBC Sports Director informed the members about the developments of the Webinars which are special forums to educate boxers and all stakeholders.

The ASBC Competition Commission decided to arrange four different continental events in the year of 2021. The planning date of the ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships is end of January and beginning of February, while the ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships could be held in March. After the Tokyo Olympic Games, two further Asian competitions are planned such as the ASBC Asian Schoolgirls & Schoolboys Boxing Championships in September and the ASBC Asian Youth Boxing Championships in November.

The subject of the speakers, the participation of the current and grassroots level of the International Technical Officials, the dual zonal competitions, the training programs for developing Asian countries and the wildcards participations in important tournaments were the further key discussions of the members of the ASBC Competition Commission.
