Uzbekistan’s fantastic veteran boxer, Hasanboy Dusmatov eliminated Tajikistan’s Meroj Sufijonov, a 19-year-old talent, and Rudolf Garboyan of Armenia in the previous stages of the competition. The Uzbek flyweight (51kg) boxer started the first round of the final better than Russia’s Bair Batlayev, and he had the advantages on the judges’ scorecards. The 32-year-old Uzbek controlled the second round well enough and he won his next big title during his amazing career.

Kazakhstan’s Saken Bibossynov reached the top of the podium in the 2021 edition of the IBA Men’s Elite World Boxing Championships in Belgrade. The Kazakh had the chance to repeat that performance in the final of the bantamweight (54kg) against Russia’s Youth World Champion Vyacheslav Rogozin. The 19-year-old Russian started their final energetically but from the second round, Bibossynov also increased his tempo to catch the youngster with heavy hooks. The referee counted the Russian in the second round and Bibossynov had the great finish to take his second World title after four years.

Kazakhstan’s Orazbek Assylkulov was dominant against Russia’s Armenian-descent Andrei Peglivanian and he marched to the finals for the first time. His last opponent, Tajikistan’s Khusravkhon Rakhimov impressed in the entire championships but Assylkulov was well-prepared against him. The Kazakh featherweight (57kg) boxer controlled the first and third rounds in the exchanges and he earned his nation’s second gold medal in Dubai.

Uzbekistan’s superstar Abdumalik Khalokov won all of his international and national contests since the 2023 Strandja Memorial Tournament. The 25-year-old Uzbek received punches from Russia’s Vsevolod Shumkov at the lightweight (60kg) final and despite his brilliance in the exchanges, he claimed only a silver medal in Dubai.

The reigning ASBC Asian U22 Champion Omar Livaza became Kyrgyzstan’s first ever finalist in a World Elite Boxing Championship and he tried to do his very best against Russia’s Ilia Popov for the gold medal. The 21-year-old Kyrgyz had nice actions in the final bout but Popov’s routine paid off in most of the periods therefore Livaza earned a well-deserved silver medal.

Uzbekistan’s defending World Champion Asadkhudja Muydinkhujaev had a very hard semi-final at the welterweight (67kg) against Moldova’s strong Alexandru Paraschiv but he managed to join the finals. The 24-year-old Uzbek was more focused in the first round of his final against Russia’s Evgeniy Kool and he overcame his opponents in the attacks. Muydinkhujaev delivered his best performance just in the final of the entire event and he defended his throne after the Tashkent 2023 edition.

Kazakhstan’s Ablaikhan Zhussupov claimed World Junior and World Youth titles more than ten years ago and he bagged three bronze medals among the Elite World Boxing Championships. The 28-year-old Kazakh not only advanced to the final of the light middleweight (71kg) but due to his first and second rounds, he defeated Russia’s Sergei Koldenkov to win the title.

Kazakhstan’s 2021 Youth World Champion Sabyrzhan Akkalykov developed a lot in all terms of boxing and he became a silver medallist at the middleweight (75kg) after his tight loss to Russia’s Ismail Mutsolgov. Uzbekistan’s 20-year-old Javokhir Ummataliyev won the first round of the light heavyweight (80kg) final against Russia’s Dzhambulat Bizhamov and he had a strong game-play but his opponent’s hand was raised after the last gong.
