Farzuna Ruziyeva and Dilyara Tursynbek are among the strong female finalists at the CIS Junior Games

Farzuna Ruziyeva and Dilyara Tursynbek are finalists in the female part of the Commonwealth of Independent States Games in Azerbaijan.

Eight cities are hosting the CIS Games in Azerbaijan and boxing is running at the Yevlakh Olympic Center until October 5.

Uzbekistan’s Nazokat Mardonova won her last international preparation event, the Governor Cup in Ferghana and she made one of the best performances in the session when she eliminated Russia’s top junior, Diana Kuznetsova at the flyweight (50kg).

Uzbekistan’s next ace and gold medallist from the Governor Cup, Sabina Mirzoyeva spent short time in the ring against Azerbaijan’s Zakhra Mammadova, the referee confirmed her RSC victory in the first round.

Uzbekistan’s Kumriniso Mukhammadova had several hard bouts in the recent months and she prepared well to this CIS Games. The Uzbek bantamweight (54kg) boxer exceeded all of her previous level and she bowed out Russia’s Anastasia Filipova in their exciting meeting.

Uzbekistan’s Farzuna Ruziyeva is one of the most experienced junior boxers in the Games and she had the next strong performance against Kazakhstan’s Balym Gabytkyzy which means that she is a finalist at the women’s featherweight (57kg).

A new lightweight (60kg) talent, Zhasmin Abramyan has Armenian roots but she represents Kazakhstan in the international stage. She achieved a bronze medal in her last international event and it is already sure that she will get a better result in Yevlakh after her success over Uzbekistan’s Mekhribakh Kilichova in the semi-finals.

Uzbekistan’s Rushanabonu Isoyeva is a well-experienced boxer at the light welterweight (63kg) and she had a fantastic semi-final with Kazakhstan’s Madina Nurmanova which resulted a close success for the Uzbek girl.

Kazakhstan’s Dilyara Tursynbek was born in a boxing family and she had a tough semi-final in the Games as she expected. The young Kazakh faced Azerbaijan’s Sama Abbasova in the key contest of the women’s welterweight (66kg) and due to her great finish, she was able to eliminate the local favourite by 4:1 split decision.
