Ergeshov and Baurin shined in the Kyrgyzstan Junior National Championships where record number of boxers competed

The Kyrgyz Junior National Championships were held in the historical city of Osh where altogether 21 champions have been crowned. Record number of 283 boxers attended in the Kyrgyz Junior National Championships and several of the country’s big hopes including Bekzat Ergeshov and Vadim Baurin won the titles in Osh.

Boxers who were born in 2005 and in 2006 were able to attend in the Kyrgyz Junior National Championships. The Kyrgyz Boxing Federation works for the development of women’s boxing and their female hopes are planning to attend in the national event. All of the regions and cities have been invited to attend in the Kyrgyz Junior National Championships where 15 male categories are scheduled.

The Kyrgyz Junior National Championships was a preparation event before the main goals of the year as the planned ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships. There will be several other international events for the junior boxers in 2021 according to the current plans including tournaments in Kazakhstan, Georgia, Russia, Ukraine, Hungary, Azerbaijan, Serbia and other nations.

Fifteen girls competed in the Kyrgyz Junior National Championships in six different weight categories in Osh. The first female gold medal was achieved by Chui region’s Gulmira Guseynova at the pinweight (46kg) who defeated Gulzada Baygaziyeva of Dzhalal-Abad region. Zukhra Isiraliyeva spent less than two minutes in the ring against Alina Asanova and the referee stopped their flyweight (50kg) final. 

Dzhalal-Abad region’s Gulnur Sharapidinova had a tough battle against Medina Abydayeva at the bantamweight (54kg) but she managed to win that final in Osh. Malika Tutasheva had also a hard job against Takhmina Narbayeva in the title contest of the lightweight (60kg). Alina Mavlyanova and Aliya Kodoyeva of Dzhalal-Abad region both dominated their female finals in the Kyrgyz Junior National Championships.

The city of Osh achieved the first title of the Kyrgyz Junior National Championships, their Firdavs Abdiyev was able to beat Adilet Kachkynbekov at the 42kg. Schoolboys National Champion Ruslan Ernest Uulu claimed silver medal at the 2019 Kyrgyz Sports School National Games which he changed into gold this time following his success over Zafarbek Kamilov at the 44kg weight class.

ASBC Asian Schoolboys Boxing Championships silver medallist Bekzat Ergeshov of Dzhalal-Abad region was one of the biggest names among the participants who had a successful battle against Mavlonb Tursunov of Osh at the pinweight (46kg). Chui region’s first title was taken by Emir Kylychbekov following his tough contest against Oomat Belekbayev of Dzhalal-Abad region.

Bayastan Toktosunov of Osh earned mostly bronze medals in the previous national events which he changed into gold at the flyweight (50kg). The host city’s next gold medal was achieved by Beksultan Baktybek Uulu who had four hard contests during his road to the title at the light bantamweight (52kg).

Roman Sevastyanov of Chui was silver medallist in the 2019 Kyrgyz Sports School National Games and after his strong preparations, he could win the featherweight (57kg) against an Osh-based boxer, A. Maksutov in the final. Almaz Orozbekov won the title at the 2019 Kyrgyz Sports School National Games and he proved his impressive talent once again dominating all of his contests including the lightweight (60kg) final against Shakir Lyalyaza.

Issyk-Kul region’s Vadim Baurin won all of his schoolboy competitions in Kyrgyzstan and he also attended at the Kuwait City 2019 ASBC Asian Schoolboys Boxing Championships. The 16-year-old talent stopped three opponents during his road to the final of the welterweight (66kg) where Bakhtiyar Shavketov was only slightly competitive against Baurin who succeeded once again.

Sports School National Games gold medallist Mukhammed Zakirov of Dzhalal-Abad region had a tough final against Zhanbolot Syrtyubayev but he won the light middleweight (70kg). Atay Asanbekov developed his skills step by step and he has done enough to beat Elzat Satarkulov in the final of the middleweight (75kg). Bishkek’s Anasbek Zamirbek Uulu and Chui region’s Ilyas Ridvanov won the remaining titles in Osh.
