Eight Kazakh gold medals in the Aytenov Brothers Youth Tournament

The Aytenov Brothers Youth Tournament was held in the city of Kostanay which is located in the Northern part of the country. Uzbekistan’s Sadirbek Kamolmirzayev, Kazakhstan’s Alimzhan Tursunov, Dilshat Nurym and Danila Semenov did well in Kostanay where the biggest sensation was done by Arman Nurasylov at the middleweight (75kg).
Uzbekistan sent a strong youth team to Kazakhstan and four of them were able to advance to the finals in the prestigious international event. The number of the male boxers was 132 in the Aytenov Brothers Youth Tournament in Kostanay where five countries achieved at least one medal in the event.
Uzbekistan’s Sadirbek Kamolmirzayev was born only in 2000 and after his teammate’s Samandar Kholmurodov’s gold medal in the ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships in Bangkok, he was able to win the light flyweight (49kg) title in Kostanay. In the final of the Aytenov Brothers Youth Tournament he defeated Kazakhstan’s Askar Kaysar by unanimous decision.
Kazakhstan’s Yevgeniy Babichev competed at the bantamweight (56kg) in their Youth National Games on May but since than he decided to move back to his original category. The 18-year-old talent was effective against his teammate Aleksandr Kovrygin and the judges picked him as the winner of the flyweight (52kg) final.
Kazakhstan’s Rakhat Kuanyshbayev eliminated Tajikistan’s youth No.1 Djamshedjon Gafurov in the semi-final by split decision but following that top result he was defeated by Kabylbay Saparbay in the final of the bantamweight (56kg). In this category Uzbekistan’s ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships silver medallist Murodjon Aliyev was unable to get any medal in the event.
Kazakhstan’s Youth National Games bronze medallist Alimzhan Tursunov was the main favourite of the lightweight (60kg) in Kostanay and he was able to realize his chances in the event following his triumph over Uzbekistan’s AIBA Junior World Boxing Championships bronze medallist Halimbek Utegenov in a spectacular final.
Dilshat Nurym was the best boxer in the 2015 Kazakh Junior National Championships but since then his career was not in the same level. The 18-year-old boxer delivered sensational performance this time in Kostanay where he was too smart for Kazakhstan’s Azat Asanov. Uzbekistan’s Mangiberdi Abdurasulov was born also in 2000 as Kamolmirzayev but he was able to beat all of his rivals including his teammate Shakhzod Sadullayev in the final.
Youth National Games bronze medallist Arman Nurasylov delivered the main sensation of the event in Kostanay following his triumph over Zhetysu Youth Cup silver medallist Daryn Imakhanov in the final of the middleweight (75kg). Kazakhstan’s Daulet Yesenov was also enough strong to beat a top rival Bekzat Sattarkhanov Youth Memorial Tournament winner Mukhatali Uralbayev in the final of the light heavyweight (81kg).
Danila Semenov claimed silver medal in the ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships in Bangkok and after that performance he was able to beat Zhetysu Youth Cup winner Nurtilek Sadakbay in a narrow heavyweight (91kg) final. Yernar Kanatbayev lost his first bout in the Kazakh Youth National Games but in Kostanay he was able to beat all of his rivals including Oyaz Maulenov in the final of the super heavyweight (+91kg).
