Eight boxers defended their thrones in the Uzbekistan Women’s Junior National Championships and will compete in Dubai

The Uzbekistan Women’s Junior National Championships was held in the city of Karshi and fifteen champions have been crowned after the final day of boxing. Eight of the boxers defended their titles following the 2020 edition of the Uzbekistan Women’s Junior National Championships.

Boxers who were born in 2005 and in 2006 were able to attend in the Uzbekistan Women’s Junior National Championships. Besides to the 13 official divisions, two additional weight categories as the 42kg and 44kg are also used in the national event which is a tradition in the Central Asian region. The number of the participating talents was 156 in the Uzbekistan Women’s Junior National Championships.

The event was a selection for the upcoming ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships which will be held in Dubai from August 20. Almost all of the winners received the right to compete in the forthcoming continental event which is scheduled also for the youth boxers and both genders.

The Ferghana region won the medal table with two gold, two silver and five bronze medals in the Uzbekistan Women’s Junior National Championships. Karakalpakstan, Samarkand region, Dzhizak region, Khorezm region and Tashkent city all won two gold medals in the national event. The remaining titles have been shared between Bukhara region, Kashkadarya and Surkhondarya region.

Bukhara’s Sevara Sadulloyeva won the first title in the Uzbekistan Women’s Junior National Championships following she defeated Laylo Nurullayeva in the final of the 42kg weight class. Ferghana’s Zilola Yusupova had a tough opponent in the final of the 44kg weight class but she defeated Jasmina Tokhirova of Dzhizak and defended her throne.

Samarkand’s Gulsevar Ganiyeva was the top favourite of the pinweight (46kg) but she had to do her very best against Dilaram Kenjebayeva to claim her second national title. Tashkent’s Robiyakhon Bakhtiyorova had to win four contests to take the title of the light flyweight (48kg). Shakhina Nematova also won the second junior title of her career, she defeated Feruza Sharipova in the final of the flyweight (50kg).

Dzhizak’s Laziza Yusupova dominated all of her contests in 2020 and she continued her winning path in the new edition following her success over Khadisa Khabibullayeva at the light bantamweight (52kg). Guldana Tuleubergenova is Karakalpakstan’s best female talent who earned also her second gold medals in the Uzbekistan Women’s Junior National Championships after beating Odina Ismoilova.

Karakalpakstan’s 15-year-old Rano Muratbayeva had a narrow final against Mushtariybonu Ibrokhimjonova but she succeeded at the featherweight (57kg) and won her first national title. Surkhondarya region’s 16-year-old Mukhlisa Tokhirova is one of the best Uzbek women’s junior boxers who earned her second gold medal after 2020 but she had a tough final against Farida Zarifova.

Khorezm’s Sitora Bakhodirova was the main favourite at the light welterweight (63kg) but she was unable to box in the final therefore the gold medal was taken by Jasmina Makhmudova. Dzhizak’s Sevinch Kurolova achieved silver medal in the 2020 national event which she changed into gold this time after beating Sanobar Bozorboyeva of Samarkand at the welterweight (66kg).

Ferghana’s Oisha Toirova earned her second junior national title after beating Shakhzoda Jumanova by RSC in the final of the light middleweight (70kg). Khavvajon Ibragimova moved up to the light heavyweight (80kg) but she was able to win her next national title following Samarkand’s Rashida Sadinova’s success. Khorezm’s Oltinoy Satimbayeva won the last 15th national title in the event stopping Munisakhon Kholmatova in the final.
