DPR Korea trains in Moscow in a joint camp

The DPR Koreans have fantastic boxing teams both in women and in men and their top athletes have been training in Moscow in a joint camp with the Russians.

The training camp is holding at the CSKA Sports Club at the Peschanaya Sports Centre in Moscow started on June 23 and it will be finished on July 8. Mr. Colonel Artem Gromov, who emphasized the bilateral relations between the countries, welcomed the DPR Koreans in Moscow.

Colonel Mr. Moon Kyu Sik is the head of the DPR Korean boxing delegation in Moscow and the boxers arrived from the April 25 Boxing Club which is one of the bests in their homeland, mostly the top team in the national events.

The DPR Korean delegation consists 16 members including 10 athletes and all of them are National Champions and winners of such regional events as the Sungun Prizes Tournament and the Bochonbo Tournament.

The DPR Koreans adopted the level of the training camp easily and they acclimatized to the local conditions well enough which support their preparations for the upcoming main championships.

The cultural part of the joint training camp includes visits in the Russian Freestyle Wrestling Championships, CSKA Museum of Sports Glories, the Patriot Park and a sightseeing tour in Russia’s capital, Moscow.

The DPR Koreans amazed in the recent IBA Youth World Boxing Championships in Montenegro and in the IBA Women’s Elite World Boxing Championships in Serbia. The DPR Koreans earned not only medals in these competitions but their boxers had titles in both of the World Championships.
