Dias Berikbay and Bakhtiyar Anarbayev won the main awards at the Kazakhstan U22 National Championships

The first edition of the Kazakhstan U22 National Championships was held in the city of Taldykorgan where Bakhtiyar Anarbayev and Dias Berikbay won the main awards.
The city of Taldykorgan is the capital of the Zhetysu region in East Kazakhstan and it has a population of 150,000.
Their best talents in this age group were excellent at the 2024 ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships in Astana, Kazakhstan.
The 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006 born boxers were eligible to participate in the U22 National Championships in Taldykorgan. The number of the participants was 237 in the national event and thirteen boxers won their gold medals.
The first gold medal was achieved by Shymkent’s Tileuberdi Suleimen who defeated Astana’s Ali Toktarov at the minimumweight (48kg) final.
Zhetysu region’s Dias Berikbay not only won the flyweight (51kg) in the U22 National Championships but he became the Best Boxer of the whole competition. The local boxer defeated Almaty’s Ramazan Ruzibay in the final of the strong weight class.
Almaty region’s Kenzhe Muratuly is a strong hope at the bantamweight (54kg) and he accomplished his target with a success over Bakbergen Tursynbay. Pavlodar region’s Alikhan Akpanbayev (57kg) and Turkestan region’s Nurislam Kaldybayev (60kg) won the further U22 titles in Taldykorgan.
The former ASBC Asian Junior Champion Yerassyl Yermek returned with a gold medal at the light welterweight (63.5kg). The 21-year-old boxer was unstoppable for his rivals including Magzhan Alimov of Akmola region in the final.
Turkestan region’s ASBC Asian Youth Champion Bakhtiyar Anarbayev was named as the Best Technical Boxer of the Kazakhstan U22 National Championships where he defeated his teammate Abdigalym Abdikerim at the welterweight (67kg) final.
Almaty city’s Abylai Sman won the closest final of the national event, he had a great third round to beat Agazhan Kadyr at the light middleweight (71kg). Another ASBC Asian Youth Champion, the 19-year-old Islam Sovetov delighted the event with top performance at the middleweight (75kg).
Almaty’s Sayat Ashimov (80kg), Dzhambul region’s Madiyar Beksultanov (86kg), Azatbek Zholdaskhan (92kg) and Yersultan Sapar (+92kg) won the heaviest weight categories in Taldykorgan.
