Chanthilath returned at the Laos National Selection Tournament with a gold medal

The Laos National Selection Tournament was held in their capital city in Vientiane and supported the decision makers to find the best team for the upcoming events. One of their best female boxers, Daomayuly Chanthilath not only returned to the ring but she dominated the women’s light flyweight (50kg) in the National Selection Tournament.

The former ASBC Asian Elite Championships competitor Daomayuly Chanthilath from the Safa Boxing Gym decided to join back to the national events and she had a strong preparation for this national selection. She knocked out her semi-final opponent, Nok Sormany in the competition and she controlled the final against La Laophasouk.

Laolanexang Boxing Club’s Yi Pheung Yang had stormy attacks in the final of the men’s flyweight (51kg) against Toto Thipphasone and all of the five judges favoured him as the winner of the selection event.

An Army boxer, the National Games bronze medallist Chanthasone Thinthavong knocked out Yodphetthae of Saravan Province in the last four and he continued his winning path against Xay Chitthaphanh in the final of the featherweight (57kg) which was a much closer fight.

Laolanexang Boxing Club’s National silver medallist Phaninh Xaiyaseng had to face Sports Institute’s experienced Asian Games competitor Souliya Kammy in the final of the light welterweight (63.5kg) but he used the best tactics.
