Bakhodirov and Istamov defended their titles in the Uzbekistan Schoolboys National Championships

The Uzbekistan Schoolboys National Championships was held in the city of Andizhan where 15 new champions have been crowned.

The 2010 and 2011 born young talents were able to compete in this Uzbekistan Schoolboys National Championships. Altogether 430 young hopefuls competed in the event from all regions and sports schools from Uzbekistan

The Uzbek talents and their management has been preparing to the upcoming ASBC Asian Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Boxing Championships, which will be held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates from August 21.

The Andizhan region claimed three gold, five silver and six bronze medals and topped the team standings in the Schoolboys Nationals. Young boxers from the Tashkent region also claimed three gold medals and became the runner-up in the medal standings. The city of Tashkent earned two titles in the event, same as the team from the Namangan region.

The Bakhodir Jalolov Sport School earned the first title in the Uzbekistan Schoolboys National Championships. Mr. Bakhodir Jalolov is Uzbekistan’s super heavyweight (+92kg) star, he is the defending Olympic Champion, World Champion and Asian Games winner. Their Asilbek Rozumbayev won the first title in the national event, he defeated a local boxer, Murtazobek Mashrabjonov at the 33kg.

Tashkent’s Kamronbek Bakhodirov claimed the gold medal at the 35kg weight class at the 2023 Uzbekistan Schoolboys National Championships. The 14-year-old talent repeated that performance at the 37kg category in the new edition after beating five opponents in the national event in Andizhan.

Bukhara’s Mukhammadali Istamov was the winner of the 37kg weight class in the 2023 Uzbekistan Schoolboys National Championships and he earned his second title in Andizhan in the recent days. He had tough battles against Ogabek Otamurodov and Azizbek Shokirjonov in the final stages but he managed to win these close contests.

Tashkent region’s Asliddin Usubaliyev (49kg), Namangan’s Bektosh Rakhimdjanov (61kg) and Andizhan’s Mukhammadrizo Kholdarov (67kg) won right finals in the event. Ferghana’s Ayubkhon Mukhammadaliyev used his strength to beat his opponents, the 13-year-old boxer smashed Samandarbek Umarov at the 70kg final.

Farkhodjon Bakhadirov was quarter-finalist in the last edition but this time he was too strong for all of his rivals at the +70kg weight class. The Andizhan-based boxer won all of his contests by RSC including the final against Kuvonchbek Sherkulov of Kashkadarya.
