Atay Askerov is the Best Boxer at the Sabatarov Schoolboys Tournament

The Beyshembek Sabatarov International Boxing Tournament delivered 15 champions in the city of Karakol in Kyrgyzstan.
A local talent, Atay Askerov became the Best Boxer of the Sabatarov Tournament, while Uzbekistan’s Bekhruz Alisherov was the Best Loser of the Finals. Bishkek’s Murat Kurmanov was announced as the Best Referee & Judge of the Sabatarov Tournament.
Karakol, or formerly known as Przhevalsk, is located in the eastern tip of the famous Issyk-Kul Lake and it is the fourth biggest city in Kyrgyzstan.
The total number of the participating boxers was 221 and there were Round of 32 bouts at the 40kg, 43kg, 46kg, 49kg, and 52kg due to the high number of entries.
The competition was available for the 2011 and 2012 born boxers in Karakol and the schoolboy hopefuls can test themselves in an international event. The new edition of the Sabatarov Tournament was an important selection competition for the upcoming international actions and events.
Uzbekistan’s 13-year-old Bilolidin Mamadjanov had a tough final against Kyrgyzstan’s Emir Moldokanov but he managed to win the smallest 33kg weight category in Karakol which was his nation’s lone gold medal.
Umar Abdullayev, a 14-year-old boxer, who lives and trains in the Osh region of Kyrgyzstan, defeated his main rivals such as Baytur Turgunov and Uzbekistan’s Mukhammadrizo Kurbonbekov to take the title of the 35kg.
Karakol’s local ace, Atay Askerov had a tough start in the competition against Ulanbek Turarov but after that close victory, he defeated all of his opponents including Aziretali Sanzharbekov to the win the 37kg and the Best Boxer Trophy.
Kyrgyzstan’s Nurdoolot Zhekshenbekov and Uzbekistan’s Bekhruz Alisherov had the best final at the Sabatarov Tournament which delighted the local crowd in Karakol. The Kyrgyz boxer, who trains in Kurmontu, had the fighting spirit and great finish to beat a top Uzbek.
Kochkor’s Bekzhan Tynybekov had five contests in the event and he won three of them closely but finally he succeeded at the 43kg. The Osh-based Daniel Mamataliyev became the winner at the busy 46kg, while Abdulazim Abdurakhmanov had to beat five opponents to take the 49kg title.
Baykhan Alisherov (52kg), Kadyrbek Zhaparov (61kg), Nurtilek Toktobayev (64kg), Bayastan Baishov (67kg), Nurkeldi Aleksandrov (70kg) and Ilim Karybayev (+70kg) all won their weight categories by stoppages.
