Astana Arlans Kazakhstan is the runner-up franchise in the Season VIII of the World Series Boxing

Following the first part of the Finals of the World Series Boxing which was held in the Xiamen Sports School Gymnasium in Xiamen, the second five contests were taking place in another Chinese city in Jinjiang. Reigning WSB Team Champion Astana Arlans Kazakhstan lost the second critical match to Cuba Domadores in spite of the fact Saken Bibossynov started well in the first bout. Cuba Domadores won finally seven out of the ten contests in the WSB Finals which means Astana Arlans Kazakhstan is the runner-up in Season VIII.

Astana Arlans Kazakhstan had a short disadvantage after the first part of the WSB Finals but their boxers absolutely gave in everything to turn back their encounter in Jinjiang. The Kazakh franchise could win only one bout in the second day of the WSB Finals and claimed silver medal in Season VIII following their title one year ago.
Saken Bibossynov was a successful youth boxer in 2015 and after three years of experiences he reached the top level of the top boxers at the flyweight (52kg). The 21-year-old Kazakh boxer was quicker than his Cuban opponent AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships silver medallist Jorge Alejandro Grinan which was the difference between them today. Bibossynov won his second WSB bout during his whole career securing an important success for Astana Arlans Kazakhstan.
Astana Arlans Kazakhstan’s Zakir Safiullin defeated Lazaro Alvarez in the Season VII Finals one year ago but this time the three-time AIBA World Champion Cuban was better in their lightweight (60kg) contest. Astana Arlans Kazakhstan’s Aslanbek Shymbergenov was impressive in the whole year and defeated twice Olympic Champion and AIBA World Champion Roniel Iglesias in the recent seasons but in their third contest the Cuban boxer won the scorecards in Jinjiang.
Astana Arlans Kazakhstan’s youngest team member 20-year-old Bek Nurmaganbet was brave against the best boxer of the world Cuba Domadores’ Julio Cesar La Cruz but his skills were not enough to beat his star rival at the light heavyweight (81kg). Hamburg 2017 AIBA World Boxing Championships silver medallist Kamshybek Kunkabayev was not enough energetic in the final bout and Jose Angel Larduet was able to beat him.
