Astana Arlans Kazakhstan defeated the Indian Tigers but the Uzbek Tigers lost in Cuba at the World Series of Boxing

The World Series of Boxing began for the Asian teams in the Week 2 of Season VIII and among them Astana Arlans Kazakhstan started their campaign with a great success over the Indian Tigers in the city of Karagandy. The Uzbek Tigers, which squad competes in the American Group this time, lost to the two-time WSB Champions Cuba Domadores in Havana but their teenage hopes have done their debut in the World Series of Boxing.

The three-time WSB Team Champion Astana Arlans Kazakhstan used new line-ups in the start of Season VIII but their younger hopes defeated the Indian Tigers 4-1 in the Serik Sapiyev Boxing Centre in Karagandy. Temirzhanov, Kuramyssov and Amanzholov all won their first ever WSB contests this weekend.
The first bout was won by ASBC Asian Youth Champion Serik Temirzhanov who defeated India’s 20-year-old Ankush Dahiya at the lightweight (60kg). Bekbolat Kuramyssov and Nurdaulet Zharmanov defeated their Indian rivals closely but Nursultan Amanzholov triumphed over Parveen Kumar by large margin of difference before India’s Kavinder Singh Bisht won the flyweight (52kg) bout.

Cuba Domadores – Uzbek Tigers 5-0
Cuba Domadores is two-time WSB Team Champion and the Caribbeans competed with their best boxers against the Uzbek Tigers in Havana. Olympic Champions, AIBA World Champions and stars in their line-ups Cuba Domadores defeated the Uzbek Tigers in the Coliseo Ciudad Deportiva 5-0.
The Uzbek boxers were tired after the long travel from Tashkent to Havana and their teenage talents were not enough fresh to be competitive against the Cubans this time. Khudoynazar Fayzov and Shunkor Abdurasulov have done their WSB debuts before their 19th and 20th birthday in Havana. Uzbekistan’s super heavyweight (+91kg) No.1 Bakhodir Jalolov was near to beat Cuba’s Jose Angel Larduet in their re-match.
