ASBC President Mr. Serik Konakbayev leads the Press Conference in the ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships in Tashkent

Following the drawing ceremony of the ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships the Press Conference was also held in the International Hotel in Tashkent before the start of the first competition day. ASBC President and AIBA Vice-President Mr. Serik Konakbayev welcomed the participants of the Press Conference and congratulated to the Uzbek LOC about their hospitalities and the highest hosting level of preparations.
Mr. Serik Konakbayev talked about Uzbekistan’s boxing successes and their successful history and the importance of this ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships which is the qualification event for the Hamburg 2017 AIBA World Boxing Championships. Mr. Serik Konakbayev mentioned the fair R&J decisions which is very important for the whole boxing family in the new Olympic cycle.
The General Secretary of the Uzbekistan National Olympic Committee Mr. Oybek Kosimov introduced the country’s sport life is in a successful era mainly their performance in the boxing competitions. He underlined Uzbekistan claimed 13 medals in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and among them their boxers delivered 7 podium places last August.
President of Uzbekistan Boxing Federation Mr. Sherzod Tashmatov said about their preparation, the importance of boxing in his strong country and also about the World Series of Boxing. Their star Hasanboy Dusmatov received the Val Barker Trophy for the best boxer of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games which was great honor for Uzbekistan. Mr. Sherzod Tashmatov welcomes all participants and guests of the competition.
Mr. Kishen Narsi shared with the media members altogether 179 boxers from 28 countries will be competing in the ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships in Tashkent. Before the first competition day an important AIBA Cutman Course and an Antidoping Seminar was held in Tashkent in the recent days. After the selections 19 Referees & Judges will be working in the ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships in Tashkent from European, Asian and Oceanian countries.
