ASBC President Mr. Anas Alotaiba sends his best wishes to the Indian Boxing Family on their Republican Day

The President of the Asian Boxing Confederation Mr. Anas Alotaiba, furthermore the whole ASBC management are sending their best wishes to the Boxing Federation of India and their whole Boxing Family on their Republican Day.

The Indian Republic Day marks and celebrates the date on which the Constitution of India came into effect on January 26 in 1950. The country became sovereign and independent from the British Empire after World War II and the Constitution replaced the Government of India Act turning the nation into a republic.

The Constitution was adopted by the Indian Constituent Assembly on November 26 in 1949 and came into effect on January 26 two months later. The President Mr. Rajendra Prasad arranged a parade in 1950 to celebrate the first Republic Day which is a national holiday in the country. The main celebration is held in the capital city of India in New Delhi at the Rajpath before the President of India with parades to tribute India’s great heritage.

The Boxing Federation of India worked hard in the recent years to achieve strong results in the international stage which is the success of their President Mr. Ajay Singh and his management team. Their Lovlina Borgohain achieved bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympic Games and the Indians shined in the 2021 ASBC Asian Boxing Championships.

The Indian boxers amazed in the Kielce 2021 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships where their girls topped the team rankings once again after the 2017 edition. India also achieved medal at the Belgrade 2021 AIBA World Boxing Championships and the country has been preparing with full speed to the upcoming Commonwealth Games and Asian Games. Boxing Federation of India could not send their boxers to the ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships due to the Covid-19 situation but their management is planning to attend in the upcoming ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships which will be held in Amman, Jordan in the first two weeks of March.
