ASBC President Mr. Anas Alotaiba congratulates to the newly elected AIBA Interim President Mr. Mohamed Moustahsane

President of the Asian Boxing Confederation (ASBC) and AIBA Vice-President Mr. Anas Alotaiba congratulates to the newly elected AIBA Interim President Mr. Mohamed Moustahsane. The Moroccan boxing official was elected by 23 votes to zero with two abstentions and became Interim President of the International Boxing Association (AIBA) following Mr. Gafur Rakhimov’s steps down one week ago.
Mr. Gafur Rakhimov led the world’s boxing governing body in the position of the AIBA Interim President since January 2018 and he was elected as AIBA President in the Moscow AIBA Congress last November. ASBC President and the whole ASBC management thank for Mr. Rakhimov’s hard work, the developments and managing AIBA’s new era.
Since the Moscow AIBA Congress the 50-year-old Mr. Mohamed Moustahsane was President of the African Boxing Confederation (AFBC) and worked also as AIBA Vice-President. Mr. Mohamed Moustahsane of Morocco is a qualified doctor, a well-known boxing official in every corner of the globe and following the AIBA Executive Committee’s election he can serves the World’s boxing life as AIBA Interim President with immediate effect.
Mr. Moustahsane started his career as boxing official in 1999 as ringside physician and member of the Medical Commission of the Royal Moroccan Boxing Federation. He became AIBA Athletes & Youth Commission member in 2010, International Technical Official (ITO) in 2011 and AIBA Supervisor in 2014.
He worked as ITO, Supervisor and Technical Delegate in many international APB, WSB and AOB competitions since 2011. He was the Technical Delegate of the Budapest 2018 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships last August.
Mr Mohamed Moustahsane was appointed as Technical Delegate of the upcoming Bangkok ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships two months ago which will be the first elite continental event for both genders together in Thailand’s capital. The personality of the newly elected AIBA Interim President will be guaranteed the fair play and the friendly atmosphere of the ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships.
