ASBC President Mr. Anas Alotaiba congratulates to Mr. Santiago Nieva who is a new member of the AIBA Coaches Committee

The President of the Asian Boxing Confederation Mr. Anas Alotaiba and the whole ASBC management congratulates to India’s Argentinean-descent Mr. Santiago Nieva who has been appointed as a new member of the AIBA Coaches Committee. Mr. Santiago Nieva has the experiences, boxing knowledge, analytical skills and excellent attitude to support the success of the AIBA Coaches Committee.

Mr. Santiago Nieva had a wonderful career as a boxer, he represented his native nation Argentina and Sweden in the international stage. He competed at the 1993 European Junior Boxing Championships in Thessaloniki, Greece as a young talent. He joined to the elite age group in 1994 and quickly involved to the national team of Sweden.

Santiago Nieva won the Sweden Box Open in 1995 and became the No.1 boxer of his weight category in the Northern European country. Nieva competed at the 1996 European Boxing Championships and at the Budapest 1997 AIBA World Boxing Championships, furthermore several other strong international events throughout the globe.

Mr. Santiago Nieva worked in several countries as a trainer in the recent more than one decade but following his work as a head coach with the Swedish national team, he joined to Boxing Federation of India in 2016. His strategic work and developments delivered medals for the Indian boxers at the AIBA World Boxing Championships, at the Asian Games, at the Commonwealth Games and at the ASBC Asian Boxing Championships.
