ASBC President Mr. Anas Alotaiba and the whole management send their sincere condolences to Kazakhstan’s Olympic Champion Serik Sapiyev who lost his father

The President of the Asian Boxing Confederation and Vice-President of the International Boxing Association Mr. Anas Alotaiba, furthermore the whole ASBC management send their sincere condolences to Kazakhstan’s Olympic Games winner Mr. Serik Sapiyev who lost his father Mr. Zhumangali Sapiyev today.

Serik Sapiyev was one of the best Kazakh boxers in the recent 15 years who won the title of the men’s welterweight (69kg) in the London 2012 Olympic Games. The Kazakh boxer earned gold medals in the AIBA World Boxing Championships twice, the first still in 2005 besides to his silver in 2011.

Sapiyev dominated many Asian events including the Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games and following his active boxing career, he worked as manager in the Astana Arlans Kazakhstan WSB franchise. Serik Sapiyev is member of the Kazakh Parliament and he has got key role in the country’s sport governance.

Mr. Zhumangali Sapiyev was born in the Kazakh SSR of the Soviet Union on the 13th of July in 1946 and supported his son’s impressive boxing career since the very beginning.

May Zhumangali’s soul will rest in eternal peace in Kazakhstan.
