ASBC President Mr. Anas Alotaiba and the whole ASBC management are sending their sincere condolences to the Maharjan’s family

The President of the Asian Boxing Confederation Mr. Anas Alotaiba, furthermore and the whole ASBC management are sending their sincere condolences to Nepal’s Maharjan family following their first ever female boxer Mrs. Sony Maharjan passing away.

Nepal was one of the pioneer Asian nations in women’s boxing in the end of the 1990 and the beginning of the 2000s. Their first female boxer was Sony Maharjan who competed in a few women competitions in that era as a young talent.

Her brother Mr. Deepak Maharjan is Nepal’s last medallist from the Asian Games, he earned bronze at the light heavyweight (81kg) in the Guangzhou 2010 edition. He works as a coach in the national team in our present days and organizes events in Nepal.

May her soul will rest in eternal peace in Nepal.
