ASBC President Mr. Anas Alotaiba and the whole ASBC management are sending their sincere condolences to Mr. Rustam Saidov’s family following his father passing away

The President of the Asian Boxing Confederation and Vice-President of the International Boxing Association (AIBA) Mr. Anas Alotaiba, furthermore and the whole ASBC management are sending their sincere condolences to Uzbekistan’s Rustam Saidov’s family following his father Mr. Tukhtasin Kamiljanovich Saidov passing away at the age of 74.

Rustam Saidov represented first Tajikistan in the international stage, he competed at the Tashkent 1995 Asian Boxing Championships at the age of 17. He switched to Uzbekistan two years later and from 1999, he was Uzbekistan’s best boxer at the super heavyweight (+91kg) until 2007.

Rustam Saidov achieved bronze medal at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, he won titles in the 2002 and in the 2006 editions of the Asian Games. He won the super heavyweight (+91kg) in the Asian Boxing Championships three-times, firstly in 1999 in Tashkent, then in 2002 and finally in 2007 which was held in Ulaanbaatar.

Following his boxing career, he works as coach and his father supported him all the time in the sport until his death.

May his father’s soul will rest in eternal peace in Uzbekistan.
