ASBC President Mr. Anas Alotaiba and the whole ASBC management are sending their sincere condolences to Mr. Kazuyo Kobayashi’s family

The President of the Asian Boxing Confederation and Vice-President of the International Boxing Association (AIBA) Mr. Anas Alotaiba, furthermore and the whole ASBC management are sending their sincere condolences to Japan’s Kazuyo Kobayashi’s family following the former boxer died due to cancer.

Mr. Kazuo Kobayashi was born in Kumamoto on October 10 in 1949 and won several national events in Japan representing the Self-Defense Forces Physical Education School before he was selecting to attend at the Munich 1972 Olympic Games.

He won the All Japan National Boxing Championships in 1971 and in 1972. Two of the Japanese boxers advanced to the quarter-finals in the 20th edition of the Olympic Games and Kobayashi was one of them which became his career highlight in amateur boxing.

The 166cm tall Kazuo Kobayashi turned to professional in 1973 and won 35 out of his 43 contests until 1981. He became the World Boxing Council’s super bantamweight lineal junior featherweight Champion in 1976 under the name of Royal Kobayashi.

May his soul will rest in eternal peace in Japan.
