ASBC President Mr. Anas Alotaiba and the ASBC management congratulate to the new President of the Indonesian Boxing Federation Mr. Komarudin Simanjuntak

The President of the Asian Boxing Confederation Mr. Anas Alotaiba, furthermore and the whole ASBC management congratulate to the new President of the Indonesian Boxing Federation (Pertina) Mr. Major General Komarudin Simanjuntak.

Mr. Major General Komarudin Simanjuntak was elected as Chairman of the Indonesian Boxing Federation for the next five-years period until 2025 following the Virtual General Assembly which took place in Jakarta in the recent days. All of the 34 Pertina provincial offices attended in the Virtual General Assembly.

The General Assembly was led by Mr. Adam Taka Simanjuntak (South Sulawesi), Mr. Sam Haning (East Nusa Tenggara), Mr. Ramli Ramlan (West Kalimantan), a former national boxer Mr. Rionando Butarbutar (Riau Islands), and Mr. Togi Tobing (West Sumatra). Mr. Major General Komarudin Simanjuntak won the Presidential election getting 18 votes against 15 which was received by Mr. Johni Asadoma and there was one abstention.

Mr. Major General Komarudin Simanjuntak has a concept to restore the glorious years of Indonesian boxing and he wants to bring back the spirit of the 1980s when the Southeast Asian country was a power in our sport. He plans to fix the facilities, infrastructure, increase the number of national events, keep the focus to the younger generations, and involve sport science to the developments of boxing. The previous President of the Indonesian Boxing Federation Mr. Johni Asadoma competed at the Los Angeles 1984 Olympic Games as a boxer and won several national title in the first part of the 1980s. As a President he arranged the Indonesian President’s Cup and sent their boxers to several international competitions to Asia and Europe.
