ASBC Heroes – Uzbekistan’s Boburbek Bobojonov proved his talent as a junior following his success in Kuwait City

Uzbekistan’s Boburbek Bobojonov was the main favourite at the 46kg weight class in the Kuwait City 2019 ASBC Asian Schoolboys Boxing Championships. The super talented Uzbek accomplished his goal and claimed the title in Kuwait City one year ago and joined to the ASBC Heroes in 2019.

Boburbek Bobojonov was born in 2005 and started his boxing career under the age of 10 as many of the Uzbek talents. He won the title of the at the 2019 edition of the Uzbekistan Schoolboys National Championships which guaranteed his place in the travelling team to Kuwait City. Khorezm’s Boburbek Bobodjonov had tough final against Tashkent’s experienced Khusniddin Maraimov but he was able to manage his win in Termez at the Schoolboys National Championships.

Bobojonov achieved bronze medal at the Zirve Schoolboys Boxing Championships in Azerbaijan two months before the ASBC Asian Schoolboys Boxing Championships. Uzbekistan’s Boburbek Bobojonov has got strong family connections to boxing and following he bowed out Kazakhstan’s Darkhan Nurzhigit in the semi-finals of the Kuwait event, he was highly confident in the final against Philippines’ most experienced national team member Raymond Lofranco.

The Filipino boxer eliminated Thailand’s high hope Phisit Paochanthuek in a hectic semi-final on Day4. The Uzbek boxer was started their contest better and landed strong punches but Lofranco had the tough fighting spirit to adopt the world class level fight. Bobojonov launched a tough jab in the second when the referee counted the Filipino therefore the Uzbek was able to win their final in Kuwait City.

Boburbek Bobojonov was one of the best Uzbek boxers in the Kuwait City 2019 ASBC Asian Schoolboys Boxing Championships where he claimed gold medal. The 14-year-old talent joined to the junior boxers on January 2020 and defeated his main national rival at the flyweight (50kg), Tashkent’s Javokhir Ummataliyev.
