ASBC Heroes – Uzbekistan’s ASBC Asian Junior Champion Nusratbek Tokhirov won a youth event a few weeks ago

Uzbekistan’s Nusratbek Tokhirov arrived to the Fujairah 2019 ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships as the main favourite of the men’s middleweight (75kg) and became ASBC Hero in that event in the United Arab Emirates. Uzbekistan’s currently 18-year-old Nusratbek Tokhirov joined to the youth age group in 2020 and has got strong expectations in the upcoming international events.

Nusratbek Tokhirov was born in the city of Andizhan on September 21 in 2003 and he began boxing at the age of 9. He trains around 18 hours per week with coach Mr. Khusanov at the Andizhan Olympic Reserve School. The southpaw boxer’s idol is Asian Games winner Israil Madrimov and likes to play tennis.

The 2018 edition of the Uzbekistan Junior National Cup was held for their 14 and 15-year-old young talents in the historical city of Ferghana. Boxers who were born in 2003 and in 2004 were able to attend in the Uzbekistan Junior National Cup in Ferghana. Altogether record number of 384 young boxers attended in the Uzbekistan Junior National Cup. Andizhan’s top boxer Nursatbek Tokhirov accomplished his target in the Junior National Cup and triumphed over Kokand’s Bekhrezbek Pulatov in the final of the middleweight (75kg).

The first international junior tournament of the year 2019 was held in the Uzbek capital in Tashkent where Rustambek Tokhirov controlled the final of the middleweight (75kg) over Sarvar Sobirov and claimed his next title. Uzbekistan’s fourth gold medal at the Galib Dzhafarov Prizes Junior Tournament was taken by 16-year-old Nursatbek Tokhirov at the middleweight (75kg) following his success over Nursultan’s Temirlan Temirbekov.

Uzbekistan’s Nusratbek Tokhirov arrived to the Fujairah 2019 ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships with two international tournament titles in the bag and proved his very best once again. He eliminated a top rival in the semi-finals, Kyrgyzstan’s Kabatay Mukash Uulu at the middleweight (75kg) of the competition. The Uzbek was motivated and fresh to dominate his final against China’s Pu Yang who bowed out South Korea’s Im Hyeon Guk in the last four. The 16-year-old Uzbek was confident in the first round and ruled the middle of the ring against the Chinese Junior National Games winner. Tokhirov was smaller than his Chinese opponent but he managed that tactical job and claimed the well-deserved gold medal in Fujairah.

Eleven champions have been crowned in the 2020 edition Uzbekistan Youth National Championships after the finals in Khorezm which took place in December 2020. Altogether 335 boxers attended in the Uzbekistan Youth National Championships in Khorezm and among them Nusratbek Tokhirov was one of the stars. He moved up two categories to the heavyweight (91kg) and controlled his final over Shakhzodbek Rakhmonov of Ferghana.
