ASBC Heroes – Kazakhstan’s female talent Nazerke Serik

Kazakhstan’s Nazerke Serik claimed the gold medal at the bantamweight (54kg) in the Fujairah 2019 ASBC Asian Women’s Junior Boxing Championships. She is one of our ASBC Heroes from 2019 who proved that she is Kazakhstan’s best female talent in the 2003 age group. Nazerke Serik has been preparing to the next edition of the AIBA Women’s Youth World Boxing Championships.

Nazerke Serik was born in South Kazakhstan in Taraz on October 5 in 2003 and started her sport career with coach Mr. Bagilbekov. She claimed her first Junior National Championships title in 2018 and dominated also the Khayrutdinov Women’s Junior Tournament in Almaty, Kazakhstan in that year.

Nazerke Serik competed at the very first time out of Kazakhstan in the 2019 edition of the Nations Women’s Junior Cup in Sombor, Serbia where she earned a silver medal. Kazakhstan’s Nazerke Serik arrived from a boxing family and following the successes of the boys, she tried to get her nation’s first female title in Fujairah.

The 16-year-old Kazakh attended several international events as her bantamweight (54kg) final opponent in Fujairah, India’s Neha. Serik started better their bout and landed punches from closer distance but the Indian received good advices in the first break and impressed in second period. The Kazakh talent mobilized her remaining power well in the third round and won the Asian title of the strong weight class.
